PTAB8000 Bricked?
So, I tried to install the 2.1b release for my PTAB8000 located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2066041. When I rebooted holding down the volume - key and power, I got a message saying it was upgrading, then the screen went black. Since then, I haven't been able to reboot the thing. When I connect it to my Win7 PC, It identifies the device as an M3-Chip. I have tried to update the driver for M3-Chip with various drivers I have found on the android site as well as this forum, but nothing seems to make this thing show up. When I go into adb and list devices, nothing shows up.
Any thoughts?

If you're feeling adventurous, or if you don't have anything to lose, I'd do this:
- Download the PMID800 firmware here: http://www.southerntelecom.com/polar..._4.0v1_OTA.zip
- Follow the instructions for the PMID800 found here (If the PTAB8000 doesn't have the same buttons as the PMID, let me know-we might be able to find a different combo that will work): http://southerntelecom.com/polaroids...e_pmid800.html
If this *does* work, you just cracked the nut I was looking for to make a modifed stock image for the PTAB8000/PMID800

Thanks for the reply. I did download the firmware for the PMID800 and tried to run through the instructions. When I press and hold the home button and insert the mini USB, nothing happens (step 20 in the link you provided). LiveSuit can't seem to find the device, I would assume. I tried to use the Power button instead of the home button, as well as power button and volume -, but neither worked.

- Press and HOLD the HOME button (do not release).
- Insert the USB cord into the tablet (while holding HOME).
- Quick-press the POWER button 3 times (still holding HOME).
- Quick-press the VOLUME UP button (still holding HOME).
- Release the HOME button.

- Press and HOLD the HOME button (do not release).
- Insert the USB cord into the tablet (while holding HOME).
- Quick-press the POWER button 3 times (still holding HOME).
- Quick-press the VOLUME UP button (still holding HOME).
- Release the HOME button.

Not sure what else to try, since I don't actually have the device....
Don't throw it away though-keep trying to get it into "FEL" mode-it's just a matter of trying the right sequence...
(It's so hard trying to troubleshoot devices I don't already own lol!)

But anyway, why were you rebooting & holding volume -? Polaroid AIO doesn't require and rebooting or flashing anything.

To be clear, I would only look at a modified ROM on your device(s). I want to be especially careful with this device, as it's the *only* Polaroid device that is 'restored' by loading a zip file onto the SD card. Makes me concerned when even Polaroid hasn't allowed it to be flashed the 'standard' way as the other tablets...
