    SD CARD FIX

Originally posted by rvmclaughlin View Post

    Internal Storage
    Total space - 678MB
    Apps - 502MB
    Available - 227MB
    Internal SD Card
    Mount SD Card
    External SD Card
    (nothing on this line)
    Total space - 0.0b
Unmount SD card - unmount the SD card so you can safely remove it
Erase SD Card - Erases all data on the SD card, such as music and photos

Any Ideas? something seems to be messed up or is it the sd card? really do not have another to try. It is a 16gb microSD HC. I took this one out of my old cell phone. Formated it.... I do not know if it was working before. When he goes to take a picture or move an app to the card, it can not do it. It says that the sd card is not mounted...
Any of the files from the above zip file have anything to do with reading the sd card?
My sd card didn't work after following these procedures. I fixed it by changing the permissions on the /mnt/sdcard directory. It was set without any permissions. Get root access and type chmod 6755 /mnt/sdcard Hope this helps.

      PTAB8000 Bricked?

So, I tried to install the 2.1b release for my PTAB8000 located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2066041. When I rebooted holding down the volume - key and power, I got a message saying it was upgrading, then the screen went black. Since then, I haven't been able to reboot the thing. When I connect it to my Win7 PC, It identifies the device as an M3-Chip. I have tried to update the driver for M3-Chip with various drivers I have found on the android site as well as this forum, but nothing seems to make this thing show up. When I go into adb and list devices, nothing shows up.

      Any thoughts?

Not necessarily. We might be able to get you back up and running-I just noticed on that XDA page that he says "This software is designed for the PTAB8000, and PMID800" which makes me wonder if they're indeed the same hardware (Polaroid has done this before with the PTAB7XC and PMID 703C).

If you're feeling adventurous, or if you don't have anything to lose, I'd do this:

If this *does* work, you just cracked the nut I was looking for to make a modifed stock image for the PTAB8000/PMID800

Thanks for the reply. I did download the firmware for the PMID800 and tried to run through the instructions. When I press and hold the home button and insert the mini USB, nothing happens (step 20 in the link you provided). LiveSuit can't seem to find the device, I would assume. I tried to use the Power button instead of the home button, as well as power button and volume -, but neither worked.

Ok, so I looked at images of your tablet and it looks like my 703c. That middle button on the front of the tablet-did it work as a 'home' button? If so, try the following sequence:

            1. Press and HOLD the HOME button (do not release).
            2. Insert the USB cord into the tablet (while holding HOME).
            3. Quick-press the POWER button 3 times (still holding HOME).
            4. Quick-press the VOLUME UP button (still holding HOME).
            5. Release the HOME button.

No dice. The button did act as a home button prior to bricking.

It may already be in a funky state. without the tablet being plugged in, hold the power button down for about 20 seconds, then try that last sequence again. These things are usually pretty unbrickable.

If THAT doesn't work, do the above and then try this sequence:

                  1. Press and HOLD the VOL+ button (do not release).
                  2. Insert the USB cord into the tablet (while holding VOL+).
                  3. Quickpress the Power button three times.
                  4. Wait for the following screen to appear.
                  5. Release the VOL+ button.

Neither of those sequences did anything.

                      Hmm.......

Not sure what else to try, since I don't actually have the device....

Don't throw it away though-keep trying to get it into "FEL" mode-it's just a matter of trying the right sequence...
(It's so hard trying to troubleshoot devices I don't already own lol!)

Did you have an external SD card with a zip file on it inserted in the tablet? My guess is that it tried to load it up, thinking that it was a ROM. But anyway, why were you rebooting & holding volume -? Polaroid AIO doesn't require and rebooting or flashing anything.

I was having them try to get intoFEL mode because ai wanted to see if they could flash a live suite image (killing 2 birds w/1 stone). if they can, I can modify a similar live suite image for a different Polaroid tab....that was where I was going...

I have a PTAB8000, I'm willing to do some testing for you, I would love to have your Elektricity ROM on the PTAB.

Heya AP. So as you can tell by the recent posts, I'm trying to figure out if your guys' tablets get into FEL mode (like all the other Polaroid tablets do). The instructions for ( a seemingly similar) PMID800 failed, so I'm re-thinking whether this is indeed the 'sister' model to the PTAB8000. At any rate, that was the approach I was taking. If you can get to the mode where Live Suite can load/flash an .img file then I'd be in business.

To be clear, I would only look at a modified ROM on your device(s). I want to be especially careful with this device, as it's the *only* Polaroid device that is 'restored' by loading a zip file onto the SD card. Makes me concerned when even Polaroid hasn't allowed it to be flashed the 'standard' way as the other tablets...
