I read almost all posts here and I fully understand you. As far I can see you bought some cheap China device called Vigica and now you would like to enjoy good OpenELEC and Android experience same as on WeTek. Now, after You realized that you are not able to make this working, you accuse that WeTek violate GPL which is really absurd thing.

WeTek is diamond sponsor of Kodi and OpenELEC project, and all code is hosted at WeTek GitHub repository, from where independent developers are able to pull down all code and to compile at their own way.

From my perspective WeTek Play SW for you is interesting as they are first company which make DVB-API v5 compatibility under Android and pure Linux, in this case OpenELEC, and now you would like to do same at Vigica.

Feel free to download code, adjust dtd file and compile firmware for Vigica, as well even WeTek Tuner drivers are fully public and open-source.

Once more, I fully understand You as you splashed money at Vigica and received only hardware without any support. Sorry to hear that. You should give a try to WeTek next time

you should try, even in a VM, any distro (I prefer gentoo but it's not for everyone) that has KDE on it. Maybe something like 10 years ago Linux was really geek oriented, nowadays it's more idiot proof than OSX (sorry Apple users ).

The only thing that doesn't mount (because I use it once a week and don't have any interest to look into it since I created a shell shortcut for it) automatically are MTP devices, specially Android that works using go-mtpfs.

Oh for f* sake... What so diferent this box have? Tuners -the same, CPU -the same, memory- the same. Stop that propaganda on WETEK. Yes it's the best of amlogic sat tuners, but it's not sooo much better than rest of others. It have support-witch is great, that's the only advantage..and design is beutiful.

@ChristianTroy - i tried linux MANY times. I most like KUBUNTU. Beautiful and fast. But distros makes no diference - it still linux. I had mini pc with kubuntu.. my sata drives was not automounted. they was visible in system (desktop, greyed) but XBMC could not access them untill i go and open disk via clicking on it via explorer. Disks was in NTFS, maybe that's the cause, but OpenElec have no dificult for this. I know OpenElec is not based on ubuntu and it have diferent mounting system.

That was a build problem of xbmc, the mantainer didn't include the proper option (that's why I like Gentoo, because with USE flags I can enable what I want)

It's the "udisks" flag here that does the trick

It has no problems mounting NTFS as long as you enable in kernel NTFS driver if you need it just read only (I'd not trust kernel's NTFS driver for write access), or NTFS-3G over FUSE (in this case you just might have to symlink mount.ntfs-3g to mount.ntfs if the package doesn't do it already).

wetek is not super megar hyper mega box
same hardware as vs_ip015 or vigica , only difference is community
and maybe wetek play can run openelen , but vigica for example don't need to add any plugin to use cccam
not like wetek that need to install tvheadend + oscam plugin or ostool
so please stop your kid comments

Everybody here is right.

WETEK is the best box because of active development team.

BUT vigica and many others - are the same boxes (tiny differences in hw like led or lcd.) - and those boxes can use the same stuff wetek does. So this returns as to the question - why wetek is much better if HW almost identical and you can run the same (almost the same - bit modified) FW on others?. Looks like there is no much reason.
Also wetek maybe does some changes to the box fw - but problem as always-with every update there is still big amount of problems and it all will be left when newer model will come. Like all china stuff.

Guru MAY be sponsored by WETEK so he have interests Who knows.
What Wetek have better in OpenElec that let's say VitMOD openelec doesn't?

Linux is very flexible - that's a good thing, but the more flexibility you have-the bigger chances to never get it straight.

Guys you can buy whatever you want, just it's a bit seeing people asking to run the same WeTek Play software on other boxes (and getting mad if they fail) just to save 20$. Software that WeTek has spent money to develop btw.
