      V2 Firm.

Excuse the question, but we will have to update Tronsmart s89-h?

      Thanks Bob for his work.

        Kudos!

        Bob,

I installed Finless 2.0 last night (along with Kodi 14.0 Helix and SuperRepo) and so far all is looking good. I will spend more time trying it out later today after work. I really like the addition of TWRP recovery.

        Kudos!

High CPU use Finless 2 for Minix X8H

First, thank you so much for all you do Bob. Amazing,

Any idea why there would be constant cpu use of 26% it seems it is the android system itself. Did the same thing on the new stock version as well. Your ver 1 ROM didn't do this. I have 3 units and it does the same on all of them. I double checked it's not an app running. Pretty sure its the Android system itself. It looks like cpu 1 is running at nearly 100% all the times. The others fluctuate properly. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I updated one of my X8-H units and it has the same cpu problem on the stock v2 ROM as well as with finless v2. To clarify as best I can, SystemPanel shows one core (usually core 2 or 4) pegged at 100% user most of the time, and it's definitely due to the main system service within the internal system processes. This continuously maxed out system service increases the average cpu speed and cpu temp above the levels that I've noticed with CpuTemp and Resource Monitor on earlier X8 ROM builds. Nonetheless, the system's not overheating here (165 degrees F. or so max), but that may due to the house being cool this time of year. Plus, there's also cooling fan running under the unit. Moreover, Resource Monitor shows the cpu running at it's max speed most the time with v2. This happens even with Bob's cpu fix and any of the cpu modes available in AnTuTu CPU Master. This is unlike the gentle - low cpu speeds needed for the system to run at idle with the earlier v1 and v1x beta builds (even when using live wallpapers). At this point, I'm fairly certain there's a bug in the system service that's causing the issue. Hopefully Bob or someone can shed some light on this?

Regardless, many thanks once again Finless Bob for all your help as well as for sharing all your great ROM builds etc.. You're too kind! Cheers!
            Best to all,
            R

So.. will this higher temp fry my box? or is there still enough room upwards?
Or advisable to go back to 9.2 beta?

                Display Problems 720/1080

                Hi Bob,

First of all let me offer my thanks for all you do.

I have used your roms for S89 since the first one and find it brilliant.

I onlygot my minix 8-h last week and came here immediately to get set up with your rom.

                Now for the "bad" news!

The only issue is have is the same display issue which happened with first s89 rom, that display issue between 720 and 1080, causing the picture to shift off to the right, thereby losing some of the picture.

You brought out a fix for the s89, forcing it to boot into either 720 or 1080 which worked perfectly.
I'm wondering if you could possibly do the same for this rom?

Or maybe it's already in there? If so could you please give me directions as to how to set it up?
If it helps any the rom seems to boot into 1080 by default but my tv seems to prefer 720 (i had no issues on stock rom)

Bob, thanks so much again, i really appreciate your time, any suggestions would be fantastic.

Best wishes for the holidays too

                    Hi again Bob,

I seem to have stumbled upon a fix for this, perhaps you could let me know your thoughts?

I can, in the display settings, force the screen to display into 1080/60hz.
I tried this (after trying every other setting and rebooting about 10 times!) and it works perfectly!

I'm assuming you know all this! and were going to suggest it anyway! but if you can offer any suggestions then i'd appreciate it.

                    Thanks again!

Will kodi use hardware acceleration or should I stick with xbmc for minix?

I dont know for sure, but If you cant select it in kodi, then you can use the frequenty zip from minix. Install that in programs from zip, and there you go.
You can find it in minixforum.com under X8 X8-H

I apologize the delay to answer BoB ....
oh yeah with my stock V2 version, using in the meantime miu-torrent and Titanium backup .... I loose all my backups .... aaarrrggghhh ... with all the data erased ... it should be a casual failure? or a version bug? I dont' know .... anycase, now FINALLY I'll mount your version to test it... and I'll give You all my feelings .
ah, a last question: any news about adobe flashplayer or a browser plugin able to play flash movies? (I dislike Mercury, not user friendly).
                          Thanks BoB,
                          GiG

Can someone check the working temp please (with CPU temp from the playstore), when playing an movie? Mines got a bit high (to 83c). And you can feel with your hand the box runs hot.
                              On both my 8-h systems.
