      Very strange.
TVHeadend is working perfectly well on my MK808B+.

I upgraded (NAND install) from 6.0.0.2 without any problems.
Did you upgrade or install from scratch?

Yes ! on MXQ version the WiFi driver works - well done !! :-) PowerOff works too !! Reboot works too !! Issues (possibly) - 1. On starting up, the text boot process shows on OpenElec screen - not necessarily an issue but it didnt do that before. 2. Ethernet IP Address is incremented at each reboot (WiFi stays constant, so no issue with WiFi IP address) - I think this is an existing issue which was fixed in therealjohngalt build by having a set MAC address of 001122334455 if that helps. 3. LED not working still (existing issue). All testing done on MXQ build. Many thanks for your efforts !! :-)

[EDIT] Yes just checked it is the MAC address that changes on each reboot causing the IP address on Ethernet to increment - it looks like random MAC addresses.

jed I was anticipating MAC-related issues... MAC address is either provided by bootloader in kernel command line (this is the case with my all-black MXQ) or it can be read by kernel. The second method does not always work. As soon as I get my hands back on red-striped MXQ, I will work on fixing that issue. The 001122334455 fix you mentioned was introduced by me to fix IP settings reset on every boot. I removed that workaround in 6.0.1.1 hoping that it's no longer needed... well, it is. I need to ask you to wait a few days for the fix, I need a box with the issue present.

No big deal as I don't mind leaving powered at all times or just replugging it if its not being used for a while. Just wanted to chime in, Thanks again for all your hard work.

JoeyDaPhish bromilow746745 Power on is handled by bootloader and to fix your issue you need to flash bootloader from an Android firmware for your box. The easiest - albeit longish - way to do this is:
        1. Backup OpenELEC settings to an external drive.
        2. Flash Android firmware.
        3. Flash OpenELEC back (6.0.0.2 or later).
        4. Restore OpenELEC settings.
The fastest way, but you need to do this carefully:
        1. Download a bootloader update ZIP from this folder: http://s805.eu/releases/6.0.0.1/Bootloader/
        2. Replace bootloader.img in ZIP file with the one from Android firmware.
        3. Sign the ZIP (use any Android APK sign tool you can find or download from https://github.com/kszaq/OpenELEC.tv.../tools/signapk and use java -Xmx1024m -jar signapk.jar -w testkey.x509.pem testkey.pk8 bootloader.zip bootloader.signed.zip command.
        4. Flash bootloader in recovery - you can reboot to recovery by either using toothpick or issuing reboot recovery command.

I'd say you need to update TVHeadend to the latest version.

@Everyone Before anyone reports it, I discovered a non-working Bluetooth issue. I'll try to fix it for the next release.

Guess what ? I did a speed test (i have an add-on i can talk about this later) and i got 9Mbps . I am testing this from the farthest point from the router. 15 Metres up on another level. I think you've solved it. I will take the box to better spot in the house and report back. Confirming i was only getting 0.25Mbps from this part of my house before and only 2.5Mbps closer to the router.
Hello kostaman , can you tell us were to get this add-on to perform the speed test? Thanks!

Some strange things happening on my MxQ OTT. I have updated from 6.0.0.2 to 6.0.1.1 and now my box just randomly powers off. Red standby light is always on but was ok on 6.0.0.2. After I originally unbricked my box back to a version of Android, the led is a mix of red/blue creating a strobe like effect. Sequence was red standby, powering up blue, then turns red/blue just before homescreen shows. This was the case in Android and also running OpenELEC 6.0.0.2. Now its all gone tits, box just shuts down. Its a shame because I could see the speed improvement over 6.0.0.2

Wifi not working properly! Well after my joy yesterday it seems that the wifi is still playing up. I've reverted back to my ethernet dongle at the mo, seems to be working OK.

I did think I had sorted the problem, remember I wasn't getting any time info from the web, just default 1970 yet the weather and streaming worked. So I reinstalled the new version and then installed my Kodi/system backup and all seemed fine. Unfortunately the time stopped working again this morning and the wifi became hit-and-miss. I thought it might be the connection, I use the guys wifi from the flat above me, so I tried my mobiles wifi hotspot and the wifi on my MXQ was still the same i.e. No time and generally a bit hit-and-miss connection-wise.

Wondering if Jed and Kostaman are getting similar problems as they have the same board as me. I did update the bootloader a couple of weeks ago maybe that is making a difference? Hmm maybe I'm screwed unless I can get a factory bootloader for my box!

Hey not the end of the world, ethernet dongle still working [crosses fingers]!

I have to withdraw my comments on the wifi dropping off. I must say the distance of over 20 metres when testing is not a good way to test a box. I have done the test at 5 and 10 metres from the router and i get consistent high results. I hope this makes sense.

Definitely Dropped off wifi speed. It's almost like the new wifi driver for the RTL8189ETV has broken.
It definitely WAS working but something has gone a miss. I'm down to 0.45Mbps - 1.00Mbps

I have another New All White MXQ (Dont Ask Why) which i flashed the 6.0.1.1 and i am getting 12.9 Mbps. Same spot 20 metres from router.
No idea what that thing has as a wifi chip.

kszaq Thanks for all your work and no hurry for any fix and apologies if it seemed I credited therealjohngalt build with your 001122334455 MAC fix ! Do you think the LED is fixable ? I think you said a while back that you now knew the issue there ? Thanks.

Well I thought I had the time issue until I realised I was running off a shared OpenVPN connection and when I connected directly it instantly updated the time. Perhaps your neighbours wifi only allows certain protocols/ports or has VPN ?

I mean £16!!! With an air-mouse!! That's bonkers! Anyway the proof of the pudding and all that. Might take a while to arrive, probably coming from China, but I'll let you know if it was a bargain. Of course hoping one of K's MXQ builds works on it. ;0)

Seems this item has been removed from ****, I wounder why.

I bought one then got msg from **** saying withdrawn. Perhaps it was a money collecting fraud who knows. It didnt give me money back though it said I should receive item but if I had raised a case it was decided in my favour. Strange, lets see if it comes then :-) [EDIT/UPDATE] I called **** they opened a case and I received an immediate refund. In case anyone else has been affected by this you wont be able to open a case online as the seller and listing has been deleted but if you open the case by phone the refund will happen immediately.

Yes I'll give it a couple of weeks. I've been using **** for donkeys and there shouldn't be any problem getting your money back. I did notice that they had sold, theoretically, 450 in 24 hours, which is, again, bonkers! This has happened to me before BUT this time they've pulled the seller as well!! Oh isn't it exciting!?!

Anyway, I'm going back to fiddling about with this wifi problem I have.

Since I don't have a box with 8189ETV it would be easier if you posted kernel log after the speed dropped.

For MAC address issue, please try the following:
                              1. Download two files from http://s805.eu/test/readmacfromusid/ and copy them to SD card.
                              2. Connect SD card to the box and use toothpick method to flash the file (don't worry, it doesn't delete anything!).
                              3. Check if MAC address issue is solved. You can also post a result of cat /proc/cmdline.

For Power LED, I decided to remove LED-managing code from HD18Q builds. There are many boards on the market and every board has different GPIO mappings so it'll always be working for some and not for others. For my board (HTC-MXQ-v4) factory-supplied bootloader manages switching power LED and it does that well.

Well I just unplugged the ethernet dongle, and tried the wifi on my MXQ and it's working again! BUT I have noticed something strange, which I'm sure is a techie thing, if I restart the box the time drops out again so it seems to be keeping something from the ethernet connection which helps the wifi once enabled but is then lost upon reboot. Could be something to do with this MAC address problem which I don't really understand.

Question is the MAC address supposed to remain the same for wifi and ethernet?

I've been fiddling, and may fiddle some more, but the MAC address is the same each time the wifi is enabled but does seem to be random for the ethernet. Time has completely gone on any connection now but no doubt will start working later!!

Think i'll ignore this for a while as it's doing my head in!

Hmm, OK I might have to sort that then although I'm sure it can be done through the website just that **** seem to make it difficult and hide things away. Hey, nothing ventured nothing gained and all we lost was a few minutes.

And I'm pretty sure the guy upstairs isn't using a VPN, it's just crappy Sky broadband which seems to block everything. I can't even use torrentfunk anymore (work around get torrents via mobile hotspot and then you can download with regular broadband including the Sky crud!).
