On a side note, cartucho16 Superceleron for your 8723 device is based on 128k3 rom.

You have only two files too?
Checked two other older versions, two files only. EDIT: I only checked with opening it with 7zip ... testing it right now with sd card
Maybe that's why SD booting is not working? or maybe because superceleron?

Edit2: Yes there are to few files on the card after installing 6013

First of all thank you for your answer. I have a question,

Backup boot, system and data. Cache not necessary.

        You're welcome. Good luck.

I'm not entirely sure but I think if you were going from Android to OpenElec then back to Android you would need the boot partition to reflash Android again.

What recovery are you using and what error message do you get?

Edit: sorry, you're using twrp of course! Strange that you get an error...does it just say "Failed"?

            Comment

Yes, it says FAILED. When I check the boot, system and data backup fails. When I uncheck it, and choose only data and system I successfully backup android. So I don't understand what the problem is? There's no success when I try to run the backup with boot checked, whose size is by the way 0mb.

Sounds like maybe twrp is looking at the wrong partition when it is looking for /boot? I don't know if you might get a better answer from the twrp thread?

                  1. Update your Android on NAND to this version (You can just take the full unextracted .zip and put it on a usb stick or SDCard and then within Android you can just use the update app and point to the .zip and it will take care of the rest) :

                  http://freaktab.com/forum/tv-player-...23-and-mxq-s85
                  2. Then download and extract this .zip to your SDCard

                  http://s805.eu/releases/6.0.1.2/uenv...0.1.2-uenv.zip

                  3. Insert SDCard and Boot using toothpick method (It will update the udev) and reboot to android

                  4. When android loads up you can shut down the stick...then flash Kszaq's 6.0.1.2 to your SDCard using this img

                  http://s805.eu/releases/6.0.1.2/SD/O...6.0.1.2.img.gz

                  5. Place the SDCard back into the stick and then power on and you will boot openelec from SDCard.

(Basically you missed the udev update process...but following my instructions will get you back on track with a true 1080p bootscreen and loader so you wont see your TV make resolution changes durring boot)
Well, I follow sammaz advice, but not luck, same result.
I flash SuperCeleron ROM to Nand sucesfully, Green Android, progress bar to 100%, no problem, however when I try to flash OpenElec to SD Card, same thing what with stock ROM.
Green Android, progress bar to 10-15% then black screen and boot to Android Again.

Note: when I install udev update, same thing Green Android, progress bar to 10-15% then nothing, but how this is a small update I think what that was normal.
There is a way to tell if udev update was sucessful?

                  Any advice?
                  I am clueless...

Not sure what the problem could be. If you want to send it to me in Los Angeles I can get it working. PM me if you want to try. Might be too expensive to ship.

cartucho16 sammaz vn800art Three things about booting from SD card:
                          1. My first mistake: there are indeed no additional uenv-updating files in SD card images. You need to download and unpack uenv update and use toothpick method. When you update uenv, the progress bar goes up to 10-15% and box reboots, this is completely normal!
                          2. M̶y̶ ̶s̶e̶c̶o̶n̶d̶ ̶m̶i̶s̶t̶a̶k̶e̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶6̶.̶0̶.̶1̶.̶3̶ ̶i̶m̶a̶g̶e̶:̶ ̶w̶r̶o̶n̶g̶ ̶n̶a̶m̶e̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶k̶e̶r̶n̶e̶l̶ ̶i̶m̶a̶g̶e̶.̶ ̶T̶o̶ ̶b̶o̶o̶t̶ ̶6̶.̶0̶.̶1̶.̶3̶ ̶s̶u̶c̶c̶e̶s̶s̶f̶u̶l̶l̶y̶,̶ ̶r̶e̶n̶a̶m̶e̶ ̶K̶E̶R̶N̶E̶L̶.̶I̶M̶G̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶S̶D̶ ̶c̶a̶r̶d̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶k̶e̶r̶n̶e̶l̶.̶i̶m̶g̶ ̶(̶a̶l̶l̶ ̶l̶o̶w̶e̶r̶c̶a̶s̶e̶)̶.̶
                          3. I'm testing a new method of updating uenv variables that won't need flashing, one time toothpick and you'll be good to go. To try it, download this file and unpack it to SD card. You should have three files: kernel.img, SYSTEM and aml_autoscript. Delete any other files if they are present. With card made that way inserted, use a toothpick method to power on the box. It should boot straight to OpenELEC. Toothpick is only needed for a first boot.
Sorry for 1 and 2, I needed some time to figure out that I messed these things up. Fixes, new uenv update method (much more reliable) and other tiny bug fixes coming in 6.0.1.4. Bug hunting takes some time.

@Everyone I read your posts and work hard to fix bugs that you report, I don't reply to every single one to not make this post a few pages long.

Great news! We all know Your good and long experience, together with your kindness! For my needs those are new things to try and are ATM my first hobby too, so absolutely nothing to complain about. I hope I have understood well, but I know You are here for all if us to help! Moreover on last Superceleron 1.4B there is a strange Twrp behaviour I still have to understand.( post in the respective thread) !
                            Regards

                              @kszaq
Hi K, yes still here, fried my old box, a long story, but I have a new one coming today / tomorrow and I'm going the SD card route this time because of all the problems people seem to have with bootloaders etc.

Therefore could you just clarify a few points?

I've got a SD card ready with version 1.0..1.1 HD18Q image on (may need to try the MXQ version) but I'm wondering if I should use the new aml_autoscript you've just put up? If the answer is, a simple yes, can you confirm that I simply need to remove: factory_update_param, recovery and the OpenELEC bootloader leaving just SYSTEM and Kernal which I them add then add the new aml_autoscript to?

                              Cheers!

                                Hey guys,

Just a simple question, I use MK808B+ booting from SD: is there a way/command to quickly reboot from the internal partition (original system in the ROM) without having to remove the SD card every time? Obviously at next reboot it should automatically start from SD again

ps. Thanks a lot for your effort, version 6 works like a charm!
