    OK so thats interesting..... When I downloaded busybox installer from the Market I got a BIG EULA and after checking it all, it said no distribution rights. Maybe this was some app and not the real busybox? Now I am a little confused

    Anyway thats cool... I will look into it for a future ROMs but not for 1.4 as I test everything and I am ready to come out with it. Maybe 1.5

    Again your full root now on this ROM. You can do what you like

        I would like to say a big thankyou to everyone who has contributed to this ROM and this site.

        I have just flashed my daughters 9G2 and cant believe how much the tablet has improved.

        I had problems with the market displaying no apps but followed the steps to rectify this fault.

        A big thumbs up from the Binnys.

            sd card problem fixed by firware update?

            according to another post http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...ull=1#post2382 it seems like there may be a fix for the sd card problem. this problem is really getting on my nerves. any chance this fix could be applied to next custom ROM? failing that is it possible to install 10g2 firmware onto 9g2?

              Unfortunatly without knowing what the changes were to the Philly ROM it would be very hard to find what they did to fix it and then put it in the 10 G2. I personally am not having this SDcard thing. Yes on first boot up some apps that load over time (Skype, etc) in the background, yes an app can cause a "media update" which can unmount and remount the SDCard. But after all that has calmed down maybe 10 minutes after full boot up, my tab is on for days and I never get the SDCard issue.

              SO more info will be needed to find what they did to fix this for the Philly Tab!

              As for flashing the 10G2 on the 9G2. Nope wont work.

                Oh well .. worth a try. I've raised a support ticket with Arnova complaining about the SD card issue (which I get numerous times a day).

                I've even reverted back to stock ROM (thanks for supplying) and still get the issue. It's got to the stage where I've had to stop using the 8GB SD card I purchased. As I only have 4Gb internally (which actually means 2.5Gb once you take O/S, etc into account) it means that it's a bit restrictive. Let's see what Arnova come back with.

                  You know some people have this problem and some do not. I have always suspected it's some apps that cause that to happen. Have you tried flashing and eraseIDB and then install NO extra apps and see if it still does it? Might be a good test to see.

                  Also another thought is maybe the "class" of the SD Card might be an issue as well? Mine is a class 10 but I know there are some cheap ones out there like class 2 or some made even before they had a class rating?

                  Just thinking out loud here as I find it interesting that some people have this issue a lot and some do not?

                    Bob, not too sure how to tell which class the cards are (i have one 2gb and one 8gb - both quite new). is there an easy way to tell? I've not as yet tried with a 'virgin' flashed setup, i might give that a go later in the week. my thoughts are that it's a fault that arnova needs to sort out - looks like they might have done so for 10g2. for the time being I'll stick with using the tablet without sd cards. I've also got some logs I've captured which seem to record the fault, I'll spend some time wading through them and see if i can pick up a pattern.

                        Fenice has a BT driver setup but it is limited on what BT sticks you can use and I do not even know what ther are. So I wont be adding that at this time since I cant test that it will work.

                        pswartout, usually if the card is rated ont he card will be a C and inside the C will be a number. That number is it's class rating. If you do not have that then it is not a class arted card which means it is below class 1.

                          Android version

                          I am really sorry to post what I am sure must be covered elsewhere but I cannot find...
                          I have just bought a 9G2 and really need the OS to be at least 2.3.3, but ideally not 3 (though I would give 3 a try) and definitely not 4. I want to run 'Kiosk Browser' which has this requirement. I can't seem to see which version of Android your ROM has..? I also need Market, but I can see that your ROM deals with this.

                          I haven't rooted anything since my Windows mobile days and need to work out how all this is done, but can see that this seems to be well documented, so I will dig around to find out how.

                          Thanks for your excellent and helpful posts - I'm hopeful this will all work out well for me..

                          (incidentally, I tried to post this reply on my Android phone (Dolphin) but could not get a cursor to type into the message body (Title was OK)

                              The Android version on my 9 G2 is definitely 2.3.1, yes. Are you saying that a 'cooked' ROM will only have the same version as on the device? I thought the reason for changing a ROM was (often) to update to a newer version of the device OS. I really need to get a higher version number of Android onto it if at all possible..?

                              Did you mean to use Boat Browser to get Kiosk mode on my tablet, or for being able to post on this forum from an Android phone?

                                Sorry yes I meant use Boat browser to post on forum, just make sure the user agent is set to Android

                                Otherwise use Tapatalk to view forum on your mobile that is what I use and have never looked back, so hard navigating on small screen devices on a mobile browser
