As for you been stuck do Android 2.3.1 I can't see Arnova upgrading to anything above that as they are a budget tablet company, your only hope is for a Rom developer spending a lot of time converting everything to a newer version of Gingerbread but for all the work it would involve it would not be worth it

so is there no hope for the 9 g2 to go further? I've only just bought one and was duped by pc worlds add which says "OS version - gingerbread , now upgradable to ICS" , i might just take it back and swap it for something that supports a more current OS.....

Ics ideally needs 1gb of ram to run properly but that is not to say it wouldn't run. Try getting Pc world to contact Arnova as to if this is to be upgraded to ics as contacting them yourself , you will get a dumb answer as there customer service for answering questions is lame.

hmm....
i already tried arnova, I wrote a nice long message, the answer came 3 days later which was "no you cant"
i might see what options pc world give me, although the tablet is really impressive for the price so I'm reluctant to return it,
is there much benefit to me on the 9 g2 from using a ROM upgrade to get honeycomb?
Forgive the dumb questions, I'm a windows techie so android is uncharted territory, I'm used to dell and HP servers running an over expensive OS!!!

I would stick with Bobs Rom on Gingerbread if you decide to keep it, the Rom is fast.

During daily usage at medium-high brightness you can expect it to last about 5 hours.
At low brightness the screen is really dark. I find it perfect for "couch web surfing" at night when all lights are off. But during the day you can't almost see what's on the screen at this level.
