iMito MX1/2 - Finless ROM 1.5 - Root, debloat, init.d support

I'm attempting to flash my new MX1 with this ROM. When I get to step 5:

5) Once it says "Found RKAndroid Mass Storage Usb" in the flash tool click the "Reboot to Flash Mode" button.

Iclick "Reboot to Flash Mode" like the directions say, but Iget a popup message that says: "Device can not do FlashMode,because of no drive."

I've triple-checked that I hadfollowed the instructions to the letter. There's no SD card. In thedeveloper options settings, USB debugging is off/unchecked. In thethree little dots in storage settings, “Mass storage” is checked.In my device's USB settings, I have checked "Connect to PC." And the flash tool definitely says "Found RKAndroid Mass Storage Usb."

I've rebooted the device, connected it to every USB port on my computer,and rebooted the computer, each time double checking the settings in the previous paragraph. All have given the same results.

I'm new to this whole custom ROM thing, so I'm sure that there's something obvious that I'm missing but I have no idea what it is. Any help is greatly appreciated.

PS: I'm running Windows 8, if that makes a difference.

I couldnt get it to work with Windows 8. I used Windows 7 and all went fine. Remember you only need to use one cable. If you use both power and usb connection it wont work

Really? I had both power and usb connected when I flashed it, and it worked fine.

not me... my computer wouldnt recognize it, so i unplugged it then hooked it up without power just the usb and all went fine

BT disconnects

My BT keyboard disconnects after some inactivity time. Is there any way to prevent it and keep it connected all the time?
Some apks, Netflix for example, detect this disconnect and in case of Netflix just stops the video.

Very annoying.

Any solutions?

Thanks Bob! I did try out ROM Manager and it is able to reboot into recovery but I would rather use a script that is designed for our device.

As I suspected, I was missing something obvious: the alternate reboot to flash tool. I also had to go into my Windows 8 settings and allow custom or untrusted drivers or something like that, it was recommended in this thread somewhere. I lost track of where it was (the first few pages, I think) and I'm too lazy to dig back through, so thanks to whoever that was.

Performance drop

I just installed this ROM, but using 1080p, the perf drop is quite important from 8500 in antutu to about 6700... Not quite sure it's worth it. So far, I am to encouter an app not working on 720p... I mean 240 density. Also mouse response is jerky, as when moving shortcuts around, for me it's quite a pain, it's not as responsive as stock ROM.

I also found everything a bit slower than stock. Running 1080p only so far and happy with it.

With the CPU clock set to 1008 MHz I seem to get the best Antutu score. And I use I/O scheduler NOOP and the governor on Interactive,

Maybe Antutu just gives randomish scores, but 1080 seems to give the best scores. 1600 MHz is slower with the 3D demos.

Could use some further investigation, this.
