Recovery with ROM dump

    Recovery with ROM dump

    Hi,I'm having some trouble getting this device into recovery mode.
    It was boxed as an Android MID All winner A13 Tablet - 7 inch.
    I don't have the original Seller/Manufacturer as the device was handed to me.
    The OS was going into standby all the time and battery monitor incorrect so thought I would try some different ROMs now I've got myself into a bit of a dead end.

    I did a ROM dump using ADB (instructions from this site - many thanks) and then tried different ROMs but none of them allowed the Touchscreen to work and were fairly useless and slow.
    I want to at least restore the orginal ROM but I don't know how to do it.
    When I did the ROM dump, it created some files called BOOT.IMG, BOOTLOADER.IMG, RECOVERY.IMG and System.TGZ.
    I've tried to do a recovery from the SD card with above files but device not recognising the img files.
    Hopefully I haven't stuffed it up altogether.
    Any ideas - anyone?

      I've tried uploading files but too large for this site.
      Have copied them to shared public dropbox account.
      Should be 4 files.

          Hello,

          Sorry i was busy so now i have Time and will look at it.
          Please Check if you can find the follow Settings on your Tab.

          Go to “Settings” application on your tablet, then “About tablet” and finally go to “System update”.

            There is a site with tons of ROM's for the Allwinner. You have to register but it's free. Lots of info on there for lots of tablets and all factory firmwares for the A13

              Yes, I can get to settings, about tablet, System update.
              Nothing happens when I click.
              The current ROM that I've tried doesn't allow touchscreen so I have to plug in a USB keyboard to work my around.

                Thanks bikerbriz, I've tried a few ROMs on this site which either didnt' allow touchscreen or would simply not work and also posted for help but no response so far.

                      Hi,
                      I've managed to find a ROM that is close to the factory version I had originally but it still has the problem with coming out of standby.
                      If the device is plugged in via USB or on charge via AC Adapter, I can leave the tablet and it will resume normally when I go back to it.
                      If the device is on battery and I leave it without activity for about a minute, it will not come out of standby, just locks up unresponsive. I have to hold the power button down to switch off, then restart.
                      I can't find any settings that will change this.
                      Do you know if this is a common problem with some MID Q88 All Winner A13 Android Tablets?
                      Any suggestions to fix this annoyance?
