Is there an easy way for us to change the boot logo back to the Archos one? No offence Supersport, I just liked the Archos one for it's smart/neat look.

There are three sets of images as follows

1. an image embedded in the kernel.img, this dispays for a second or so except during the first boot
2. An image that displays while boot.img is processed, this displays for longer than the kernel image
3. the boot animation that loads as system.img, this displays longest

There's a stand alone kernel I sorted over on xda-developers as part of the stock kit with cwm. For boot.img you would need to unpack add the logo and then re-pack. Easiest of all is the boot animation, use esfileexplorer or other root explorer, browse to /system/media and rename bootanimation.zip.

I think it is very fair for a ROM developer to "sign" and put his own logo on a ROM!

Do you like the ROM? The boot screen is like 3 seconds! Does it really effect you that bad? REALLY? For all you are getting in this ROM, this is the only thing you want? If so, learn to take apart boot.img and make your own ROM!

Otherwise, how about just living with the 3 second boot and enjoy the ROM a developer spent a LOT OF TIME making for you! He has signed it like any artist would.

No offense, but it really does annoy me when someone gets a ROM that is way better than the manufacturers ROM, and wants to change a SIMPLE boot screen! I mean really?

900, can do what he wants in his ROMs but I almost find the request offensive.... That is like asking Leonardo da Vinci to NOT sign his art because someone does not like it

Hi, i replaced 900's boot.img with Bob's boot.img with succession (well so i think). Can anyone confirm if you're still unable to get the likes of Grand theft auto, or HD widgets for example? If so, at least i know it's worked

Not certain what you're after here. I've already posted a boot.img with the init.rc changes.

Woah, seriously?? I get flamed for wanting to edit a picture?? Dude, you need to take a step back! I only asked if it was possible/how easy it is to put the original boot logo back on, at no point did I say I can't live with the current logo or complain that it had the authors name on it - I thoroughly respect Supersport's work and am glad the rom boots with his signature on it, it's reassuring.

All I wanted to know was if I could change the picure on my tablet, and Supersport very kindly told me about some options for doing just that (cheers!)

You mean you didn't back it up before you flashed??? Lol!!

There's a recovery set to put it back to stock on xda.

These were working for me on the stock rom (rooted) so i'm guessing they will work on your ROM as well, cant check right now.

I couldn't get the to work in cifsmanager. I have cifsmanager installed on my optimus2X and can see my pc drives. On my Archos it always says no rlsuch file or directory. I have even tried backing up cifsmanager with titanium and restoring it on here to make sure there are no typos.
