Maybe that's why 1080P always worked for me. Except in YouTube. The max resolution I can choose there is 720P

Check your build.prop if it is correctly spoofed as nexus 10. youtube works in 1080p for me.

I would not recommend using the wm command as it is reported to cause high cpu load.

Yes, of course, totally forgot about this...
Either set qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 and loose the navbar on the bottom or follow the guide i linked above and keep the navbar (using wm command) but at cost of (possible) high cpu load.

I will upload an update next weekend where everything is fixed. I found a replacement for the navbar that works fine with youtube full hd. it will be included in the rom. Works very good but it is on the right side, not on the bottom.

But that means losing the Navbar completely? mmmmm how do I then switch between apps and kill running apps that I don't want running?

This sounds great. A replacement navbar that makes YouTube work at 1080P sounds good

I lost the Navbar and now I can choose 1080P but on every video it resets to 720P in YouTube. Mmmmm is this really setting it to 1080P or is it just an option that shows up but we can't really choose?

same here. Had to remove navbar to get 1080p in youtube. But I now also have additional install problems of various apps like Mame4droid and RetroArch. Either crashes android and forces reboot or installs and usable until I reboot android and the app dissapears. Very odd behavior.

You would not think it possible for a navbar as part of the system to cause so much bull twangy.
You tube now has 1080 for me
