        open a terminal window:
        $sudo su
        root@ugoos:~# echo performance > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor
This will set the cpu clock to maximum (but it does not enable overclocking).
So out of the box your RK3288-SOC cpu will then run at 1.8 GHz and will not switch down to lower frequencies.
Tried this thanks but didnt help with audio stutter.

You will find a pdf in the update file(config files too), this is from page 9 of that document. I amended the following by adding the(just Android) or (just Linux) for the sake of clarity.
For flashing dualboot or clear(just Linux) linux firmware

              1. Run the Android Tool. If you did everything correctly and the driver is installed on your
computer, you will see “Found One Loader Device
              2. Default program configured to flashing "clear"(just Android) android on your device. If you want install
“Dualboot” or “Clear(just Linux) linux” click right mouse button by program window, and then select
              “Load config”.

              3. Then choose one of configurations files:
 config.cfg - if want flash only Android
               config_dualboot.cfg - if want flash dualboot
 config_linux.cfg - if want flash only linux
              4. Now click the Upgrade button to the firmware of the device. At the end you will see a sign
              indicating a successful operation.

You right click in the flash tool window and then load the cfg file, don't put it in any box.
Then it automatically changes all the boxes and files to the correct ones.

Mac, do you think that Your patch and the how-to instructions can be applied on a device with a rk3188 processor, running ubuntu 14.04? I have the radxa rock light and I was wondering if I can use your patch for Kodi.

Should I expect it to be at least as smooth as android? Also notice the audio stuttering. 720p seems to be a bit better.

Thanks for your hard work MAC_L1

Glad it's not just me, would be great to get this working for 1080p mkvs. I've got sabnzbd and sickbeard working so would be great to have kodi working at least on par with Android.

Since the Linux Kodi also use Android drivers it might work, otherwise a new Linux kernel needs to be compiled with passthrough support.

Someone please test passthrough then I will create a new ROM if it works.
Also test 1080p 23.976 videos in Kodi Linux(might not work smoothly but need feedback).
I needed to disable Android sound because otherwise no other linux app could get access to the also driver, so solution needs to come from rebuild linux kernel...
