One more question, is it better to use 720p or 1080p for to having les problem with 808B?
Is this Stable enough to use or must l stay on 4.2.1?
    Thanks in advance.

      Hello, Bob!
Today I've replaced the Finless 2.0 with the new 2.1 version.
It feels like it's twice as fast as the previous version was !

The only thing, which I can mention is, that the default HDMI output is 1080p. It is not a problem for me, because I have a FullHD TV, but some people uses the Mk808 with older, only HD Ready capable TVs, which means, that these old TVs cannot display the FullHD resolution.

Ran into a odd problem with this rom this morning.
I installed using the 6gb parameter and went to redownload and reinstall all my apps starting with need for speed most wanted.
download went ok but soon as I tried to install it I got an error message saying not enough space, needs atleast 2044mb of memory required!!
I have just under 6gb so whats the deal??
I had to reflash again using the 4gb parameter this time and it installed no problems.
I find it odd casue the MK808b has a total of 8gb of storage right?
So if I had 6gb for apps and the download is only about 600mb and installs into about 1.8gb thats 2.4gb total I still would of had 3.6gb of storage space so why wouldn't the game install with the larger parameter partition??
Now im stuck with a lower app sapce..

          hello...

i think the maps of this game going installed in data space(SD card) and not to appspace.
i am not sure for it, but a lot of apps use data space for something like that.

            Yes you are correct!!
All the apps are installing in the Os nand area instead of the apps partition.
Not sure how to fix this so I flashed again to the 1gb app partition hoping that the apps keep installing to the Os nand area since it should be around 7gb's in size now.
If its not one thing its another I swear.
I regret ever buying this crap!!
Maybe future roms will make me change my mind..

              Need an air mouse app!

Anyone knows an air mouse app to use with our Mk808? I know a lot of air mouse app using G sensor in Play Store but all of them are for PC. Why don't they make for android TV?
News: I found out that Minix has an app to control their device with G sensor supported. Its call Minix remote control. Anyone can do something to make it work on our device?

Bob did include a 'RKRemoteControl.apk' app file in the root folder of his roms (1.7 & 2.1), is that what you are looking for?

Oh yes, I'm so sorry ^^. But I'm also looking for a air mouse app using gsensor.

I have a question. I'd like to try the 1080p resolution. Can I flash only the kernel, without wiping all the stuff from the device?

An an other thing, I noticed today. It looks like, that the clock is an old clock, maybe from Android 4.1. The 4.2 clock looks much different, with countdown and stopwatch, and with very different alert setting. Of course I will not use the Mk808 for alarm clock, but it is strange. The otttther thing is, that the wifi icon looks like, it does not shows that wifi data transfer is active. The wifi icon is blue, and I have many active connections (torrents), but I do not see the up and down arrows in the wifi icon.
I do not know, if it is because something is "optimized out" in the finless rom, or it is because it is by default with the stock ROM?

Wifi icons have always been unreliable for me, sometimes not turning blue and what not. If it's working ignore it.

Yes, you can flash the 1080p kernel without data loss, just make sure you only have kernel selected in the flash tool program.

First post here, and first again, many thanks Finless for your state of the art ROMs.
                        Greetings from Romania.

I,ve upgraded from 1.7 to 2.1. And I saw there is no option for "Auto hide systembar" in "Display" settings. This was very usefull in 1.7, espscially when using XBMC. Hidding the statusbar manually after starting XBMC causes misalignments between mouse pointer and highlited button.
I know, there are on the market, apps for doing that. But in 1.7 you have that option by default in system settings.

                        RESPECT

Cannot get my mk808B to flash...

Hi - I got a mk808b from **** - I opened it up and checked it was the original version. It has the RK903 chip there.

It came with 4.2.2 pre-installed I am not sure what vendors version this is. I took a picture of Settings->About

I tried to follow the instructions in finless's zip file to the letter, with my Laptop connected running Windows 7, but no way could I get USB MASS Storage device showing for the flash rom sw, and the alternative flashrom software didn't show any box turning pink.
Eventually I fell back to the pin and reset OTG technique, and finally got the device detected by Windows. (after a reboot I think).

So I then tried loading the drivers via the 'unknown device' update driver, browse for drivers - and pointed it to the Win7 folder under Drivers. Windows reported the driver was incompatable with the device - no way could I get it loaded.

I am sure I have the original mk808B (because of the RK903 above) - and I am missing a step - What am I missing?

                            Its OKAY.

The laptop was new and I was trying to load the wrong (x86) driver rather than x64. Flashed this ok. Thanks!!!

I just updated to this new rom and the original stock new rom posted by geekbuying and I must say on both of them I have noticed a pretty significant decrease in speed. Just navigating between my home screen and app drawer or home screen and settings app you can clearly see glitchyness. Also after a restart none of the apps seem to recognize the internet connection except for the stock browser and gmail, I even tested using ethernet and same results. Will def be going back to the older rom if I can still find a link around here

If you do not need to be on the latest (4.2.2), I would say Bob's 1.7, or for that matter, factory 4.1.1, are more stable and responsive roms.

I believe Bob based his work on the factory rom, so his hands are more or less tied too if the factory rom is inherently buggy.

The link to Bob's 1.7 can still be found inside one of the sticky thread in this forum.
