    openelec for MXIII-G (amlogic S812) ?

    hello there community

Did any of you guys have tried or find an openelec version for this box?
Im much happier with openelec on my (mk808b plus) than android version.Botting from sd-card for openelec and android is on nand.
On mxiii-g kodi does not work properly for me. I connect the box thru av-reciver and on playback (1080p) video is not smooth. I tried ajusting some settings in kodi but nothing seems to do it.
Box comes with android 5.1.1 and kodi 14.2. On this version x265 content plays , but if i install (version 15,15.1,15.2) x265 does not work anymore.
I guess it's better to have openelec for kodi and for the rest android.

    Thank you

I face similar issues on my MK808B Plus. With stock android firmware Kodi 14.2 works OK, but 15.0 and above has playback issues.
In 15.0 they cleaned up the code and I guess thats when they broke something that causes playback issues.

I wonder if anyone made a bug report about it yet...

So you have the latest openelec on your MK808B Plus. Which Kodi version does it have and no playback issues on that?

Some of the other amlogic openelec builds will boot on the MXIII-G. But not all features will work. I also would love to see builds for this box .

Try this get rid of playback issues on android kodi 15 and above. I've got it working on s802, s812 and s805.
There are no longer any playback issues with 1080p content, no stutter etc.

Thanks for the feedback. I would like to hear from others as well before ordering. I will be using the unit for mpeg2 and mpeg4 interlaced and progressive variable bit cable t.v. streams, divx xvid h.264 and h.265 all up to 1080p. I am NOT concerned with 10 bit color or 4k. Fully working and stable Kodi 15.x on Openelec is a must for my use.

Which boxes do you have now? I think any of the newer Amlogic boxes running OpenELEC will play your live HD TV streams flawlessly. I think you have watched some of my YouTube videos showing live TV streaming on my different boxes, but my little $35 MK808B Plus makes an awfully nice PVR/DVR backend and frontend. That S812 box would be awesome running OpenELEC.

I am looking to replace the xbox 360s when the Comcast mpeg2 switch to mpeg2/mpeg4 happens in Oct to Nov. I expect Comcast will use a mpeg4 profile that the 360 won't be able to handle. I have watched your videos of the box handling broadcast channels with 4 tuners and enjoyed them. The feature rich more powerful MXIII-G would stand a better chance if being able to handle everything I need it for. Comcast does some weird on the fly variable compression and switching frame rates of the stream. I record and watch cable t.v. series and sports much of which is not available anywhere else legally.

I might add the Xboxes are connected to a Windows Media Center htpc. I have Server.wmc installed testing a Intel 2957u box with Openelec- pvr.wmc . Results are good but the box is twice the price of the MXIII-G.

Hi there, I'm new to the forum and these boxes in general. I have installed this openelec on an MXIII-G box and it seems to pick everything up including Network and Wifi. Everything seems to be working and playback is smooth. Haven't tried any 5.1 audio yet will try and get one and let you know how it goes.
Only niggles i've encountered so far are, Audio is played on both HDMI and SPDIF regardless of what is selected. Also whenever I try and shut down the device is restarts.

To Xangt or does anyone know who ported this or a link to a thread related to it?

FYI I now have 3 MX3G's and I like them better than my Neo X8h+ its a quality box... Would love to get Openelec running...
