    Howdy All,

Updated build based on Kszac's OE 5.95.5.2 build:

    Note:
    1. Still kodi 15.1
    2. Bluetooth fixed (well turns on/finds devices)
    3. *Should* be more compatible with Kamak's original MX3G port

I noticed that RealJohnGalt has updated kszac's build to OE6, so rather than backport kodi 15.2, I will rebase my builds on this.

I have been looking at the various bootloaders for this device, & it seems that we are pretty much stuck with the original android 4.4.2/316k4 version, as the newer ones from LP all cause lockup's with media playback in kodi (both 15.1 & 15.2) - Ironically I can still ssh into the box, it's just the display/remote become unresponsive (no errors logged, fo course)

This build still seems more stable than my previous 6.0.0.2b release to me, but as others have reported here, ymmv.

    Enjoy!

Could you clarify the problem? Does the unit boot? Is the wi-fi/lan not working? I don't have the 1G model, so I need as much information as possible to try & isolate any problems specific to it.

      Thanks!

With 6.0.0.2.b and kszaq 5.95.5.2a after flash to nand isnt boot, just blank screen.
I make photo from pcb front and back, i post it.
With amlinux.ru 6.0.0 MX3G version working, but bad deinterlacing quality has, and sometimes video playing with jerky picture.

      Nextxeon MXIII-G V2.0 S812/1G/8G/AP6181 (M82G_V1.0_20150324
      NAND : EMMC 4.51 : foresee NCEFES78-08
      Gigabit lan : Pulse H5007NL

        Hi envagyok,

Thanks for the detailed breakdown - Could you try the latest build:

        or failing that:

(This build was released just before kerber's build, but includes a number of patches for Kodi amongst other things)

        Thanks!

          5.95.5.2b isnt working
5.95.5.7 working, but with the same problems as amlinux.ru mx3g 6.0.0. image. When i turn on, it boot to gui, and the screen 1-2 times/minute make 1-2frame black blanking (it not always make, just sometimes), and livetv 1440*1080 50i played 25 fps (screen is 50fps, but jerky) bad quality. When the same channel i see from record, then play good 50fps.
Deinterlacing quality is bad too, sometimes at fast movings i see at the top right quarter of screen the video is a frame late.
Maybe the device has factory failure?

I have a beelink mxq and raspberry pi2 with openelec, this two device isnt produce this symptoms.

Hmmm... OK, I'm going to have a closer look at the differences between kerber's & my patches, as there is clearly something different in mine that affects the 1G models. I've only seen the "black blanking" issue when using the non-supplied hdmi cable on the MX3G, or when trying to use certain kodi plugins. You mention livetv, how are you playing this on the MX3G? Are you using wireless/lan based connectivity? I don't have any content > 25fps, but I do have a lot of interlaced stuff that plays flawlessly at lesser framerates - Have you configured kodi to adjust it's framerate to match content source, or is it fixed? (Mine it fixed to output at 1080p/60hz, regardless of source) - I'll have to source some 50i content to further test this problem...

Agreed, the MXQ/HD18Q/MK808b/pi2/etc have much better OE support at this stage - As we are still using the Mali450mp graphics on the MX3G, I'm surprised that at least the graphics are not the same/better than these older/slower devices Seems I have a lot more fiddling/testing to do...

-The hdmi cable I used with mxq too without problems
              - I use tvheadend client with lan ethernet cable access, server is wetek play with dual dvb-s2, and Hungarian upc channels at 1w. With the same settings mxq and rpi2 plays fluidly this TV channels
-I configured kodi to play video with video's frame rate, it plays 24 fps video at 24p, 25 and 50 fps video at 50p, 30 and 60 fps video at 60p
Maybe this problems regard to 4K?
I use 1080 50p gui, my TV uhd but avr not.

I observed sd channels (interlaced) deinterlacing quality is very poor, when I leave deinterlacing mode in automatic. The bob hw deinterlacing quality is bad, when I set to software deinterlacing, then better. I think something wrong with hq deinterlacing.
              I find this site:http://linux-meson.com/doku.php
Maybe problem with old kernel, or amlogic?

Yes, your cable should be OK - I just tend to label mine & use them purely with the box they are supplied with, regardless
I suspect that the tvheadend client is causing the problems with the broadcast streaming from your wetek - Put simply, the mxq/pi2 are more widely used than the S812 based boxes (like the MX3G) - This could simply be a matter of recompiling/optimising the client for the S812 chipset, or it needs some patching to address quirks in the MX3G/S812.

Spent a bit of time testing adjusting/or fixed frame rate's, & found overall using a fixed rate worked best on my MX3G/MXQ (This could just be a quirk with my older samsung TV's), regardless, I don't think this is the cause of the issues.

Now, the de-interlacing is a different issue - I noticed that one of the kodi patches disables all hardware decoding for all resolutions < 800p, stating poor quality issues - This could indeed be related to the hardware de-interlacing - As most interlaced content is DVD. I also noticed that in the newer kernels, there is an option to only enable hardware de-interlacing for SD content (Though I suspect this is an efficiency issue, more than due to hardware problems).

What version of OE are you running on your MXQ? Kerber's builds run a fairly up to date linux kernel, whereas Kszaq's runs on a slightly older one, but works extremely well for the mxq/mk808b+/hd18q based boxes - This is another reason why I backported support to this kernel for the MX3G.

I will be releasing 6.0.0.2c shortly, which brings my build back in line with kerber's mainline.

I used kszaq's MXQ build 5.95.5, and later an improvement from kszaq thread... 6.0.0.

With mxIII-G the screen blanking problem is periodic.. Sometimes more, sometimes less. But it can happen at GUI (1080 50p), at video playing, menu browsing, etc. Maybe timing problem?
I have LG 55UB820V UHD TV, and Onkyo ht-r548 avr. But i try with avr and without avr too.
I have LG 60pa660s plasma, i try tonight too.

Ok, While I've been concentrating on Kszaq's 5.95.5.2 for my port, I have also done a quick build based on RealJohnGalt's 6.0.0 tree as well - I have a few more issues I want to resolve in kszaq's tree before moving to a mostly 6.0.0 base (There are a few packages I intend to bring in from kerber's tree that I find useful that kszaq's lack at the moment

Does your avr run through hdmi or spdif? I've noticed a sporadic noise burst via the hdmi port, mostly when idle/menu nav. I can imagine an avr/some TV's connected via hdmi may glitch due to this. (My TV's don't seem to mind, but then I also hear this occasionally from the MXQ as well, just far less often

I tried this and the 5G works well not sure what the difference is but just wanted you to know... Would it have anything to my settings being static IP as I run alternate DNS with UnoTelly for NFL GamePass support?

Also 5.95.5.2b does run about 10-15f cooler than 6.0.0.2b and my temps now stay below 120f so I can see the difference you have experenced with CPU control as well.

Thanks again for the support, do you have a PayPal link?

Thanks for the feedback - I also run a static IP address on mine (Couldn't set this through the OE interface, had to edit the config file manually to get it to take - Actually, that brings up another thing I need to look at - I use a 26 character password on my wireless & had to change it to a short one in order to get it to connect (& then edit the config manually to set the longer password) - This could be related to my wifi prob's overall... But then, I remember when running android on the box, that I couldn't set the password through the MBox wifi configuration either - I had to go to the normal android wireless setup in order to define my long password - Probably a prob in the OE kodi addon (or maybe connman.
Yes, it's a bit unusual - When looking at all the android rom's for this box, they all tend to favour using the hotplug scheduler, rather than ondemand - I wonder if they do this due to the ondemand scheduler being broken on the newer kernels. The hotplug scheduler seems to run flawlessly on 5.95.2b (powering up/closing down CPU's as needed) - I think I'll default to this in my next build.

I've used different builds for the M8 box from both Codesnake and Kerber. I figure I ask here because you guys seem to really understand some of these builds. But my question is. Why does Codesnakes builds have only 2 cores working and Kerbers has all 2 cores a workin?

                            Thanks

This url points to how to implement it in an older version of OE - I will have a look at adding it into my kerber build, however, it'll only be launchable via autostart.sh (Being able to enable/disable via the OE GUI I'll leave for someone else to figure out

                                Howdy Guys,

I created a new thread for my builds:

(This way I can just edit the 1st post when I release a new build)

To "Celebrate" - New builds are up for both kerber based & kszaq based builds - These versions should now work for those unable to upgrade from my older versions.
