thank you again to justme for a new rom I will do my testings and will inform you for anything weird and full stats and by the way happy birthday!!!!!.ok for those who cant get into recovery it is a trial and error there are 5 to 6 different boxes that 1 rom can work on them but that does not mean all the recoveries will work ,I once answered recovery questions and solved the problem in the 1.8 rom section .so for just me k200 twrp recovery worked and for me m8n the unverified worked so you guys go ahead and try the m8n and see what happens and if you want to older style recovery and not twrp recovery you can extract the recovery from 1.7 rom if you have any questions ask please

hello just me so i had some time to do some testing ,wifi the best signal power and speed so far getting between 50-60mbps.fake wifi works ,samba didint test yet,......but i have major problems with starting the box and shuting down/sleep when the box starts the light is blue and then the light turns off when the rom is loading and stays like that ,the remote works fine,and when i press the power button on the remote the box goes into sleep and the blue light turns on then there is no way i can turn on the box unless i pull the power cable and put it back ,i dont have the wakeme scottie apk to try it out if it helps if anybody from this forum has a link i would like to try and post results and if you need assitance in loading recovery let me know thank you again.

Waste time to wait for m8 update, if turn off for a day and back on...(my box is on 24hrs, 365days, no problem), what wr need to learn from your test is
1. Movies playing on center screen,,?
2. Wifi need reconfigure if box if Off then On?

Can i use update in setting to update using zip "justme 1.9............zip"?

@ TD I just decided to do it that way this time no you must use the twrp recovery.img with the extracted folder as is and toothpick method .

you will find the odd sized screen was due to kodi and not firmware related.

OK, finally 1.9 is flashed...........However

1. Reboot after flashed
2. @ boot logo (JustMe.com and the M8 box and remote control)
Issue: The power on M8 box is OFF
3. Took longer to get into Main page, from JustMe animation screen (Est: >30 seconds)
4. While in Main page, press power button on remote control
Issue1: M8 power turn ON, but Main page is OFF on TV
Issue2: From this point, doesn't matter how many time pressing power button on remote control, M8 still nothing happen (This is weird...)
Solution: Unplugged power adapter, re-insert to reboot M8 (Only choice)
5. Unlike v1.7a the resolution on 1.9 is not as good as 1.7a (I had two box running side by side each had different firmware, playing same video)
6. Movies crashed and about 1/3 on top of TV is Big Green line appearing (2/3 Black screen on TV)
7. WiFi need reconfigure each reboot M8 (This issue most happen on stock firmware)
8. Compare between two M8 box running side by side one with and other w/out "Eth disguised as WiFi", I think performance w/out is better when click on same link.
9. Once in awhile kodi fail to open properly, kodi auto return back to main page. Click again to open then it ran OK..
10. pressing HOME button on remote control sound bar appearing UP (Amlogic remote updater for M8 original, M8N had same issue.......w/out updater sound control seem OK)
11. Pressing Volume button UP, M8 crashed to Main page (Amlogic remote updater for M8 original, M8N had same issue.......w/out updater sound control seem OK))

I just found out....M8 asking the "......Purchase because firmware reaching to limited..........." after down graded to 1.7a from 1.9
So base on what I am understand, JustMe have a option to tracking firmware was released to members if update used TWRP tool?
I do not worry about pay for personal firmware create, but would like to know where can I do that (give me a link please)

Thanks for the remark spocoeric that's why I decided not to waste my time and answer since the problems he wanted answers to was not even firmware related lol. Anyway It was answered to just me testing requests and I am sure he is aware of the reboot and the light issue .thanks again to justme hopefully we get a fix or it

3. yes probably little long no big deal can fix that next rls but as you mentioned your self you leave it on 24/7 so it shouldn't make difference to your self
4 yes their issue at the moment when box is on powered led is of and when box is off the led light is on I think I know what the problem is possible fix next rls
4.2 long press reboots box, short press on/off I mean quick press anything longer will not turn unit on (also take the time to flash the remote from justme remote updater installed as its currenty not set .to standard remote
5. can you explain more I mean if yoru eye can tell the minute difference if any that's amazing have you tried to run earlier kodi like whats on 1.7a with 1.9 also while playing on each box same movie i suggest you press "o" button on keyboard and take snap shot same time on each box screen and post here.
6. what sceen res and have your tried the bonus xbmc installed and does it do the same if so can you try the 1.7a kodi version

hey justme so after some tests wifi does not need to be reconfigured everytime.so I installed the firmware the power button was turning on and off the device first time after install but then after a reboot the power button turned off the device but never back on again until I pulled the power cable so I tried to press the buttons on the remote and when I pressed the home button the box turned on ehehehe .this might help some people until fix.

Exactly, it wasted time for me....the power ON & OFF reported by me is just for you to keep in mind. I didn't mention any words "NEED TO FIX.."
(I work here in California, we need to write anything we founded, but doesn't mean need to fix..).
Yes, we let boxes turn ON 24/7/365.......that why I said "Wasted time......" regarding to some of @%$$#%#%$ reported issues above

By the ways:

Q5. We using Measurement System Analysis to check on M8 interface component, while two M8 PCB running sametime on two different firmware
the signal on measurement system show on screen, tell us 1.7a resolution never drop below 720 but 1.9 is sometime dropped to 480 (On same channel)

Q6. the big GREEN line staying on top of TV (about 1/3), and the rest below is Black (about 2/3 of tv screen)

Q7. If select ETHERNET + Fakes WiFi..................Run video or any movies about 20 minutes
Now uncheck them both then select WiFi.............Run video or any movies about 10 - 20 minutes)
Shutdown M8 (unplugged power adapter......Reboot M8.............Check to see if WiFi still detecting and had IP...?

Q10. after installed Amlogic remote updated....Press Home button on remote control the sound bar appearing on TV ...UP

Q12. Re-flashed 1.9 is no problem....

Thats all I can say now...!!!!

- can you take picture of both units playing same channels after say 10 minutes and take snap shot of the frame rates etc as mention you need to press "O" on keyboard to bring it up

- when you update to m8n remote which i presume you have with aml remote updater does the box reboot?

1. They both using kodi 15.2 released (Download on kodi.tv
2. We currently using "Measurement system for other projects, as soon as it free I will get a printout on both M8 and M8N for you
We testing streaming (using Comcast 60Mbps.....Never test on NAS)

ok I tried your method Q7 and I still get wifi ip. give it few second. so I cannot reproduce lost of wifi connection with your method and even just un pluging main power and plugin back in can anyone else test this too?

can you uncheck aml codec in kodi and test again

home button for me work as it should taking me back to the menu where i can select which launcher I want to choose

what i suggest is to load OE or stock rom then flash my 1.9
