Took us.....another 3 hrs to find-out "The good, the bad & The ugly" in V1.9
And in general
with a few more natures fix, we think 1.9 is more likely is "The good" (My favor is v1.7a, but 1.9 now replaced).
By the ways, this is only our opinion "We don't see anything change when Ethernet+Wifi = ON"....Just opinion.

JM &TD... Did some testing this PM:

1) Remote does have issues with power on/off. If you power off and power on, rather quickly, it works, If you power down and wait, the unit will not power up.
2) LED is on when the unit is off and off when the unit is on. No big deal.
3) Vol +/- within KODI, drops the audio from AC3/DTS into noise.
4) KODI runs well with no issues without using remote.

Seriously, I use the remote just to suspend the unit. I always use a keyboard w/mouse pad to navigate the M8N. This has worked on all JM's ROMs without fail.

cjeman what audio output are u using spdif or hdmi ? is passthrough enabled ?

I can't reproduce your error AC3/DTS and volume control works fine here.

I mainly use hdmi out on video, and spdif with music to an external DAC both works fine

maybe this is remote related, im jusing the original round remote

Slowmo.. HDMI under Kodi 15.2. into a Onkyo receiver. Could be the receiver. Not a big issue for me. I'll try SPDIF and test again.

JM. TD's issue with occasionally lose wifi when rebooting. It did this a few times in my testing. No pattern at this time. I use wire on this device, so not an issue for me..

From our point of view, WiFi did happening "What if"
1. Connected Ethernet + Fake WiFi
2. Turn OFF
3. Select Real WiFi
4. Get out of Network setting
5. Run some video
6. Shutdown M8 (Unplugged power adapter)
7. Then power back...
NOTE: Check Network setting........"What you see same as what we saw"

We found on our network analysis show no signal while WiFi trying to scanning DNS to get the IP
(The signal pickup right away, used 1.7a firmware ), we said what we saw on our test, no need to confirm....!!!!!

Slowmo.. Funny volume issue within Kodi. Reducing volume (remote or keyboard) from maximum, generates white noise. When volume is boosted to maximum, normal AC3/DTS returns. Again, not a big issue, seeing that most folk adjust volume via receiver or TV remote. Makes no difference HDMI or SPDIF. I tested on both a receiver and sound bar.

OK tryed again this time i also removed my user account cleared data, rebooted then readded uses account. same issue

Is there a way to disable the random mac address on reboot ? i would like to be able to use dhcp reservation in my router, this is twarted by the random mac.

Slomo I will try something later tonight for the random mac addy I believe most wholesalers are given mac range which the boxes operate with start and finish

Hi All, ive just updated from the free 1.6 to the new 1.9 but i now have now sound on my M8 whatsoever, any suggestions please? Weird it started working again..

Try checking MBOX settings. Make sure the Audio setting is what is attached to the M8. I had no audio issue with 1.9 install. HDMI/SPDIF combo setting works nicely.

On the first minutes same problem:
LED is on when the unit is off and off when the unit is on. (EM8)
