the way Imito implemented wifi in this 4.2.2 is different and I have yet to get it ported. I may work on that later and release a 2.1 ROM using that.

Dear Bob, could you please explain what you meant by this? Is it correct to assume that you built your 2.0 ROM based on Imito's latest official 4.2.2 ROM except for the WiFi part/module, which you're hoping to port later on? Is that it? In other words, whoever installs your Finless 2.0 would still not have the latest WiFi code released by Imito: is that true?

Problem with this rom or my 809II clone.

When my 809II clone is powered on it run perfecty and smooth.
But when it is on all night and my tv is off . It hangs when I power my tv back on.
I have to pull the power supply to get signal again.
Also it messes up my ethernet to usb hub.
The router dont give wifi anymore .
When I reboot the 809II it runs again.

Please help me...

sadly, like the 1.7 ROM, WiFi drops to 1Mbps after 10 minutes, going back to 1.5.

Which rom is working for you ? My Wifi drops to 1Mbps after 10 mins too... Not sure if I'm using 1.7a or 1.7b, how could I tell ?

My galaxy s4 sees the dongle and I can pair It but few seconds later it disconnects.
I see no mirroring at all.

flashed 2.0, it booted and I was able to get into Android, navigate with my USB wireless keyboard/mouse and then paired my BT remote. I shutdown Android to switch the USB to the DC port, powered back up and now it just gets tuck on the splash screen.

Tried resetting, no luck.

Before I reflash to 1.7, anyone else experience this?

I have a weird issue with Google Play store in this ROM (using in UK). When I search for, say, BBC apps, most do not appear (including the iPlayer, News and Sport apps). I get the recipe one and a couple of foreign region ones but no UK ones. However, if I search specifically for BBC iPlayer it comes up as a named app and can be installed. The same gos for lots of other UK based apps such as ITV Player, ITN News, Sky Sports News etc.

Any thoughts on what is causing what appears to be a region issue for me on this ROM?

I have stopped services, cleared cache, cleared data etc but the problem persists. I have reverted back to the excellent 1.7a ROM for now (720 version) and it works perfectly, but I do like the 4.2.2 and would like to give it a longer go. This issue is the only thing that is stopping me!#

If it means 'getting my hands dirty' in the depths of the system that isn't a problem - I've done my apprenticeship developing custom installs for the linux-based o2 Joggler, so I'm familiar with the cycle of 'tinker...tinker...tinker...break it...reflash...tinker...tinker...etc'

I've noticed this issue with Google Play, too. Also - and I'm not sure if this is related - I went to Google Play on my PC the other day and it was all in Spanish! I had to log out/in to get it back to English.

BTW, is there any news on a BT fix for this ROM?

Netflix

I am enjoying the Finless 2.0 Rom (Thanks Bob). I mainly use my device for viewing Netflix, achieving this via the previously suggested fix however whether its due to the fix or the version of Netflix some of the text on the selection screen is white against white so i can no longer read the suggested genres - a bit picky i know but is this something caused by the Rom version 2.0 or maybe the netflix version or the netflix fix (previously described). The text is clearly visable on my samsung S3 phone and it was okay on finless 1.7a version.

Any ideas? Are we expecting netflix to upgrade their softare to allow its use without the fix? if so how will I know when they do? (or did)

Youtube

When I first bought my stick maybe some 3 months ago ish i recall i was able to send youtube videos direct from my galaxy S3 phone to my TV (stick) by clicking a button within the Youtube app on my phone, just as long as i was on the same wifi network. This seems no longer possible, i presume lost in a youtube update - however I can still send photos and video saved to my phone this way. Therefore I assume the change is in the youtube app. I did notice that within the settings it should be possible to pair my phone to a TV to enable this feature however the software on the TV (stick) doesnt recognise itself as a TV. Has anyone found away around this?

OK folks, as many may know Imito released an official JellyBean 4.2.2 ROM for the MX1/2.

I decided to make a Finless ROM 2.0 version using it.

I was trying to port the MK808 4.2.2 ROM to the Imito because it has a few more features in it but the way Imito implemented wifi in this 4.2.2 is different and I have yet to get it ported. I may work on that later and release a 2.1 ROM using that.

But with that said, this is a pretty cool 4.2.2 release by Imito that I used to make my ROM. So if you want 4.2.2 this maybe for you!

Features and release notes for my 2.9 JB 4.2.2 ROM:

1) Rooted with an updated SU and Superuser.apk that works with 4.2.2

2) Debloated of a some bloat apps!

3) As always, full init.d support! If you do not know what that is... ignore it. For geeks that want to use it. It is there!

4) Gameloft fix. This fixes Gameloft games from crashing to the desktop.
Many of them do not run and crash to the desktop. This is due to a license check based on the device.
Special thanks to Christian Troy for inventing this fix. I modded it for this ROM.

5) Phone carrier fix for Google Market unlock (more APPs show up).
For some reason this was not built in like other stock ROMs.

6) I unlocked hidden settings:
-> Accessibility

7) New "grid" style launcher available as a choice of launchers.
Some people still want the Alternate launcher that comes with many TV sticks for EZ TV use.
I took this from another 4.2.2 ROM. This of course comes with the RK settings as well.
If you want to remove this just use ES File explorer and delete these files from /system/app
LauncherNEW.apk
AllApp.apk
RKSettings.apk
RKBasicsettings.apk
Now just reboot and all this will be gone.

8) I fixed the stock JB launcher icon placement.
The icons were not in the dock but just above it which was ugly!

9) All Google APPs updated except Google Search

10) Busybox that I like best Wraitdu 1.19.4

11) Changed build.prop so USB connaction to PC is a Mass Storage device and not a MTP device.
This ROM has no settings to change that at all (I will fix that later). I prefer a Mass Storage device myself.
You can easily change it back in build.prop. I commented out the MTP line.

12) Build.prop edit to open up the Google Play store to APPs that normally say "not compatible".
I am spoofing a Samsung device that will show almost any APP as compatible.
YOur device will now NOT show up as a MK808 device to Google Play! Understand this please.
I also left the original buiild.prop in the ROM called build.orig.
If you want to go back, just use ES FIle Explorer or a root file explorer and rename build.prop to build.old
Then rename build.orig to build.prop.
Go into settings, apps, all and go into the Google Play app. Clear the cache and data.
Reboot!

13) RK Remote control does not work in this ROM! It crashes!
I will work on fixing this later. It's a very common issue with 4.2.2.
However the MK808 4.2.2 ROM works so I will try to fix this issue in a future release.

14) Petrus reboot APP is added

15) 1080P patched kernel baby! I patched the stock kernel to 1080P.
There are 2 kernels and 2 boots in the ROM kit. By default kernel720 and boot720 are selected in the flash tool.
If you want to use a 1080 kernel then read the instructions below.

I just installed this latest build and when I played a movie in XBMC XAF build using MX player, it plays fine, but I stopped the player and clicked the back/quit button, the XBMC restarted. It never happened to me before with the stock firmware.

If I changed it to use the DVD player instead of the MX player, then I don't get this restart XBMC issue. Something might be wrong with the HW decoding with the new build.
