can someone test if the wifi and video is ok on mk908

I have tried SMB.
I can watch 1080p .mov videos from the microSD card without any glitches (finless ROM 1.5a). But when I want to watch it from my NAS over wifi it jitters. I tried all the popular android media players. My device connects at 65 Mbps (8.125MBps) The .mov file has 18000 kbps (2.2MBps) so there should be enough throughput to play it flawlessly. Regardless it jitters. When I tried the spedtest.net it scored around 27000 kbps (3.3 MBps) so less then the half of my nominal link speed but still much more than the 2.2 MBps video bitrate. ( I could get 45-47 MBps read speed from my NAS in windows) Nevertheless my windows notebook plays the file perfectly over it's 130 Mbps connection.

So my stick's wifi connection in theory good enough to play 1080p video files but in practice it jitters a lot. I have seen pictures from sellers that the cx-919 can connect with 130 Mbps. Is that enough to play flawlessly or it has no influence on video playback performance? I have bought this T428 stick because I thought that it's wifi chip is more advanced since it has 5GHz capability as well. It seems I was wrong. Or it' just a question of optimization? Or it has not enough power to run the wifi and video at full speed at the same time?

I have received my cx-919. It has 4.1.1 stock ROM. Video performance over wifi is same poor as on T428. Wifi more sensitive (sees more access points) but 1080p over wifi is jittering.

when you have wifi problems, the first thing that i suggest is to delete ehomemediacenter.apk restart your router and your device and test again how all work.
this not are the solution to all network problems but of many.

this other bad chinese app send strange broadcast events to the network (you can see with tcpdump) and specially if you have other devices in the network, it cause many problems.

minix was the first company to add rkremote in the minix neo g4. Infact the previous android version 4.0.4 was wonderful, after this version began to be born so many phony version of Android with a lot of code changed.

The new MiniX should be out in a couple of weeks time. Now from what I think is that they actually played a big role in solving these issues. The 808 with Lewy's MiniX rom is day and night compared to the ... crap slow image when it was released.
Maybe we should wait a couple of weeks until someone gets hold of that new image and then start working on it. I think it would save you from a heart attack.

Well I had that stick before getting the MK808. The 808 scored much better in benchmarks but the g4 felt really smooth compared to it.
I have high hopes about the new MiniX. At least they have a Facebook page without a vendor having to contact them. Might be a bit more expensive .... but it might just work.

The two Company how making China's ROMs are HOTACK the making the R-BOX ROMs. And the other is zynga the also make ROMs. I don't think the Company itself will make ROMs. All add INS you see from Rockchip are inside the SDK. They working with this SDK. I have try to buy one but Rockchip wants to have 6000 USD for it. No way.

the truth of the matter is Rockchip as already fixed the issue in sdk 2.0 so really you have got nothing to offer them so that they will release the information to you, it is just not going to happen. If I had the video problem myself I would have tried to fix it , but I havent

Very true. Sdk 2.0 fixes all (has only been released for tablets so far) so they probably wont care too much about any other solutions since they have a working one of their own. The approach to getting the question answered is also not the best imo because it is almost like black mail (e.g. I will give you something but not until you do this for me). Rockchip has never done anything for us and probably never will, especially using this approach, so I think them registering for these forums and replying to this thread is a little far fetched. Instead of releasing all details of changes made maybe the code should just be shared with finless or other developers of his skill set that have physical access to most of these devices and can be trusted to implement things correctly and for all 3188 sticks. At least that way wouldn't reveal too much information.

Side note: Has anyone test this kernel with the stock t428 rom? I tried it and its actually pretty laggy - which is weird considering it works good with other roms.

I do not see any major improvement. The T428 still not capable to play higher bit-rate 1080p movies over wifi! Still lagging, buffering .....

that is another problem which will need another solution - if you hurt your arm and your leg and a doctor start bandaging your arm you cant yell at him that he hasnt fixed your leg, he can do only one at a time.

works without WiFi and bluetooth on mk809iii from lightake, although there is also a module ap6210, and the video is wonderful. Well gather kernel with my module usb-lan.

I'm glad you compile a kernel for us mk908 users, unfortunately I can't test it right now coz I'm at work, can test it tonight round 20:00 GMT+1 if noone gave you answer before.

Stop this, the SDK2 has fix nothing and it is not the Holy Grail.
I have tested it and know what I say.
Strauzo has fixed the Jitter inside the Kernel. Point! Yes we can bash Rockchip for it but I think there a 2 Company's making ROMs for this Devices. This ROMs are not good. They also make the Kernel and gave it to Tronsmart and other Company's. I personly think we can bash this 2 Company's and the Stick maker for not Testing well.

+1 Agree, great work, and please share what have you done when you can.

If Rockchip share the full sourcecode with the community, not only the kernel, a lot of new improvements to this devices can be added, People will see a great community developing for this devices and it will add an extra value to this devices. But I fear that they will not do that.
