    3. Latest Stock Rom for 908 from Tronsmart
    4. T428 4.2.2 tablet rom (for Cube)

In all cases, video (multiple high bit rate 1080p mkvs/Youtube HD) is spectacular but wifi is throttled.

Tried removing EMedia center and rebooting router, where appropriate. Download and throughput speeds remain slow.

We're almost there, I can feel it but I haven't broken through the wifi bottleneck.
And with the Nexus rom how it work ? You must change kernel and modules to try this on your mk908.

Swap the entire modules folder with the modules folder of a working rom for mk908

I don't consider the nexus rom a my work. I suggest this rom only because i'm sure that is the most compatible with google standards.

How you control your device ?

    Update:
I wrote a silly excuse maybe I'm a little tired. The module folder must be the same. Because i forget that i swapped the rkwifi.ko with mt5931.ko
However you can install and use it for testing purpose.

Ok just reinstalled it again from scratch. Finless 4.2.2 -- Strauzo kernel

wifi connected to my Asus RT-66NU at 65Mb/s which is connected to a Synology nas.
Using Network speed from PT and connected via the explorer I am copying a 300MB file
      I get approx 1,5 to 2MB/s

I should have tested it with the regular kernel first mea culpa

Something I just see now when you click on that clock .... right bottom I see my ssid and 0% behind it which is very strange.

Using my 100Mb/s network dongle I only seem to get 6,5 to 6,8MB/s ... a bit on the low side of the max of 10 to 11MB/s (check for B and b important!)

@eville YES, just install this one https://www.dropbox.com/s/8szllypehh...-2013%2310.rar and make your cx-919 come alive!

        VERY IMPORTANT TEST

in your opinion, which of these two kernel gives the best performance in the video ?

        <DELETED>

this two kernels are for T428, the first is the last but have best fit functions for old tv, but i think the second is better.

this response is very important for the future development

the mk908 kernel is based on the first, if you think that the second is better i make a new kernel for mk908.

I really care about this assessment, please do not give rough estimations.

        test with calm

          Strauzo:

I can't make this comparison as I don't have the T428. Good luck to the other testers. As you say, calm and methodical testing will take us forward.

I will try the nexus rom with your 908 kernel next. And I will try changing my router channel, though I don't think the problem is there. As I noted, on other rom/kernels, download speeds regularly reached 29 mbps on the same channel (No.1).

In all cases I've tried, the video jitter is gone. That alone is a major breakthrough.

Just wanted to say great job on fixing the video issue, strauzo! I'm looking forward to a kernel for CX-919

If you read a few posts earlier, some people has had good luck with the 908 kernel. Both WiFi and BT works on the CX919 apparently.

The wifi is very important for me and will be my second step.

But for now i made same "real life tests" i copied a file of 200 MB with es file explorer from my pc to my T428 over local network. connection 2.5 Ghz i don't tested again the 5Ghz band (i have a router capable)

                oldkernel + nexus 680 / 702 KB/s
                new kernel + nexus 680 / 702 KB/s

identical result. This don't mean that the wifi work well, but mean that the new kernel don't take negative effects on the wifi. at least on T428, the friend Zahir have tested on mk908 and is different.

our connection link, note 65 Mbps

in your tests don't confuse Kbps and KBps

b is bit and B is byte

                1 byte = 8 bit

Wow that seems slow. Why am I getting more than double on my CX-919?
What tool did you use to test?

I should've read more carefully! Sorry about that.

Just tried the 908 kernel on my CX-919 and it works really well! The stuttering is all gone as far as I can notice, wi-fi seems to perform as before, bluetooth works too.

                    Amazing!

es file explorer for this reason i say "real life test"

es file explorer show the transfer rate when you copy a file.

My last test was the nexus rom. A very clean and pro feel to that one, by the way! And again, video is just superb - I tried a lot of panning scenes in some quality 1080p movies over NAS; and then a HD movie over Navi-X.

This is quite simply the smoothest video we are going to see on a Rockchip. And it's great.

WiFi: no change. Speed is still throttled at around 8 - 9 mbps using SpeedTest. File transfers using ES Explorer are about one-third the speeds I'm used to: 345 - 450 kbps as compared to 1.35 mbps.

I changed my router channel but that actually reduced the speed... which makes sense since I think I had the optimal setting before.

I am going to retrace my steps. I will return to my original setup for fast wi fi on the 908 - Finless CX 919 1.4 with Finless 1.5 kernel. Once I see my speeds return, I'll re-introduce the 908 kernel as a separate flash. We'll see what happens then!

i made the same test with same router in same room same position same pc same file same es file explorer version

but with my galaxy s3 gt-i9305 2GB ram and LTE

                          wifi link connection 72Mbps

                          cyanogenmod 10.1

the same file at 578 KB/s 6 minutes

                          instead with t428 5 minutes

                          ----------------------

                          I think numbers at random

the wifi looks good (if you don't look the numbers ) but surely you can do more and still I have not worked on

apart all this tests. FOR ME the wifi is sufficient when DroidMote don't lag and Youtube for hd videos is fluid without interruptions. (for now this is a fact)

but i repeat, surely the wifi can give much more

                            Wifi mysterie

                            Hey everyone,

I'm new to these forums and pretty new to the droid tv stick business, but here goes
I've been playing around and testing my T428 and so far everything is going just fine exept the WIFI part.
When i am close to my AP i get speeds (tested with speedtest.net app) up to 2400 kB/s. On my phone (sensation xe cyanogenmod 10.1) it goes a little bit faster. So far so good... when go in to my bedroom (1 floor up and about 3m above my AP) i hardly reach 600 kB/s...On my phone up 2700 kB/s in exactly the same spot. I also did a live test with 'es file explorer' : downstairs 1.5 MB/s, upstairs 128kB/s...Is this a hardware problem (poor wifi chip) or is there anything else i can do to fix this?

                            Thx

                            PS:i apologize for my english

Strauzo, finally got to test your new kernel for older TVs and it worked beautifully on local media. But, I just tried Netflix and it is totally broken. I used the playstore and "black" versions on finless 1.5a. It would play for like 5 seconds then freeze up. Not sure if this is wifi related or what. The 5 seconds I saw looked great though!

Thanks so much for all your hard work!

I don´t need them next to each other to see the stutter, but my point is that I have a wonderful setup for comparison, and I see the stutter if it´s there. I´m always happy to test any rom anyone has to offer that may fix this problem. So all suggestions are appreciated.

Off-topic, I know, but just love your setup - should I say "cockpit"?
