I have already boot Ubuntu mate from SDcard.
Could I boot Ubuntu mate from internal Flash,NAND or eMMC?
    Thank you!

After creating the primary user, the system will automatically reboot and will automatically start the graphical interface (XFCE). Changed the algorithm for setting the video output. In this version of the configure script output (s905x_init.sh) reside in a directory on a FAT partition (on a running system, this partition is automatically mounted to the /boot directory). This script can be changed. To change the screen resolution from 720p to 1080p, you need to uncomment the line "#mode=1080p60hz" and comment out the line "mode=720h60hz". Similarly, you can change the color depth from the default 24 to 32 (bpp=24). Note that with 32 bit color significantly changes the desktop. In this script you can place the commands you want to run WebMin , Doker, ask line to run the USB port (if necessary), configure, sound card, etc.

Bug with out of sync image is not yet resolved. If you encounter such problem you need to perform a soft restart system with Ctrl+Alt+Del. Please note - you must restart the system WITHOUT turning off the power. If you restart with power off-synchronization can not be restored, When power is turned off is reset and the process repeats with a new one. Sometimes you have to restart the system several times until you see a stable picture.

If the picture is out of sync when you start GUI, you must switch to text console (Ctrl+Alt+F2) and give the command restart (Ctrl+Alt+Del).
      Hi balbes 150
and I'm sorry to bother you.

Now my "Vega S95 Telos" can boot with your "Armbian_5.24_Amlogic-s905x_Ubuntu_xenial_3.14.29_desktop_20161213.img" : )
      Thank you very much...
This is really good img to me.

for it I copied FAT partition dtb-3.14.29's "gxbb_p200_2G_vegas95.dtb" to FAT partition root with rename "dtb.img"
It need 1 more reboot and need some more time to boot and showing console

      OK boot success It's good

My goal is HW acceleration at "YouTube" and "Kodi"...

when I test, I know xorg works only "software rendering"
      from Xorg.0.log
      "122 [ 45.977] (II) AIGLX: Screen 0 is not DRI2 capable
123 [ 45.977] (EE) AIGLX: reverting to software rendering
      124 [ 46.663] (II) AIGLX: enabled GLX_MESA_copy_sub_buffer
125 [ 46.665] (II) AIGLX: Loaded and initialized swrast"

      so I tried something...

      1) remove preinstalled "mali-fbdev"
      2) install "mali-x11","xserver-xorg-video-mali"
      from http://deb.odroid.in/c2/pool/main/m/

      3) with it and glmark2-es2 test result was more good fps value than previous
      4) but still software rendering : )

      5) I tried also http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=136&t=19433 but failed maybe some different c2 with vegas95 telos at /dev structure

      Am I missed something or
Someone can advise to me about Vega95 Telos Mali GPU HW acceleration ?

Or Is it impossible at Amrbian,Ubuntu Mate with Vega95 Telos ?

To use the methods described for the Odroid, it is better to use variations of images collected using the kernel sources from Odroid.

                maybe it has problem...

actually, I googled about "mali 2d acceleration"
someone says "mali 2d is possilbe"
someone says "mali 2d is IMPOSSILBE"...

butMali said "Integration with 2D acceleration architecture"
                at http://malideveloper.arm.com/resourc...splay-drivers/

and android ,openelec kodi "system info - video" show "Mali driver" but at armbian kodi show "mesa driver"
also odroid c2(similar hardware with my Vega95 telos) has method http://forum.odroid.com/viewtopic.php?f=136&t=19433

so I tried many imgs and tried kernel build mali,ump,dir2,x11...
but all failed T.T cause of I'm newbie at armbian, also newbie at linux kernel build

now I almost give it up.... : )

Mali is supposed to be built-in to the latest linux kernel. If Armbian ever updates to a 4.X kernel it should work without any extra packages.

                    Oh Thank you nosmokingbandit
                    It's really good news...

Then can you tell me how Install Armbian 4.x kernel to Vega S95 Telos or Update to Kernel 4.x ?
At Armbian homepage I can only find 3.x kernel...

I'm looking for users to test the installation Armbian in the internal memory, which is connected to the console UART. In their models of TV boxes I've tested the installation to the internal memory. It works for me. Now I need to check how will be the process of installation on other devices. First of all I'm interested in the values of the variables in u-boot. Depends on the contents of the installation script. With care you can try to install to the internal memory without a console UART, but then I need a USB cable for reprogramming the device in case of errors in the installation process.

                        Hi !
I'm willing to try it on my GT1 (SN with A912). But unfortunately I don't have a USB cable.
Can I still make it ? How do I need to do ?

                            Happy new year!

Thank you so much for the guide. Can anyone recommend a S905 TV box with at least 2GB of RAM, and good Ubuntu support?

Would be great if you can provide Gearbest / AliExpress Link Thanks!

Is the "X96" Android TV box compatible with the uboot method? Link to X96: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/X96-...703457355.html

                              Hi,

                              I have a Nexbox a95x s905x 1gb/8gb and I try to boot Armbian 5.24 found there:

But it would never boot up. I am assuming that I dont have the right dtb file.

Anyone could advice where I could find a working dtb for my device?

                              Cheers
