Underclocking the gpu is 100% possible, I have done it to one of my sticks so it would run using the usb socket on my tv with a small underclocking/undervolting to the gpu and cpu to save power. However as for overclocking the gpu it would not be advisable as it is already running at 600mhz. Underclocking/undervolting the gpu and the cpu makes for a very energy efficient android stick

when you are building the kernel where do you edit the speeds for ram/gpu at? in menuconfig? I have a t428 that for the life of me cannot pass antutu at the 3d test section, Im thinking its because my gpu just cannot handle the frequency its running at or it its something related to voltage.

you have to rewrite some of the code in / arch / arm / mach-rk3188/ board-rk3188-box.c and dvfs.c and cpufreq.c and to modify the governes you have to change some of the code in / drivers / cpufreq cpufreq_conservative.c or cpufreq_interactive.c or cpufreq_ondemand.c or cpufreq_performance.c or cpufreq_powersave.c

no because the official rom has the kernel in the boot partition. The bluetooth and wifi will work fine in the rom that I recommend as long as your android stick is one of the following MK802-IV or UG007B or QC802 or cozyswan s400 as I believe the are all the same internally

I have a MK802IV with 4.1.1 (4.2.2 kills wifi) official firmware.
I'll try the one you recommend with the 720p kernel, thanks

Just finished installing, the wifi problem is back (4.2.2 related) speed drops to 1/2mbps a few minutes
after connecting to wifi network, system performance is very good, although I think boot takes more time.

I'll run a few more tests, just finished antutu benchmark wich scored almost 17000

My test results so far with 720p kernel

Antutu Benchmark: 16877 (How did you get yours up to 18000 Sam?)

Epic Citadel: 46,1 fps (my mk808b scored 43.8)

Linpak Multi-thread: 140.79 mflops

SpeedTest: Wifi 12.70mbps download / 1.56mbps upload

The wifi speed values are much lower if the test is ran a few minutes after connecting, this is a problem that only happens on 4.2.2 firmware, on 4.1.1 wifi works great but system performance is worse. It would be nice to know what's causing the wifi problem so that it would be fixed to work properly on firmware 4.2.2. I have my mk802iv on a casemod, that some of you already know, but I will post some new photos when it's completed . I use a netgear type g router (up to 54mbps) at home, and I have a d-link external antenna on the mk802iv case, wich didn't work at all on my mk808b but works just fine (on firmware 4.1.1) with the mk802iv. Those who have type n routers (up to 150mbps), also have wifi problems with 4.2.2 firmware on the mk802iv?

no you can just flash the kernel over the old one there should not be any problems

Can you please send me a dmesg of your custom kernel? It is suposed than imito QX1 and mk802IV have the same wifi&BT chipset but I dont have wifi&BT when I install your custom kernel in my qx1.
And I am stuck with BT. I can make wifi work in my custom kernel but BT is giving me a big headache.
