How has VC-1 codec performance been on this box? I've had some difficulty playing 19mbps stream with the R-Box.

This is one of the few boxes that I have, that plays my BlueRay VC-1 encoded videos perfectly using ZDMC.

      MK818B, T428, ATV 1220, CS918S, TV01, S89H, R89, ADT-1, MK808B Plus, MINIX X8-H Plus, Tronsmart Orion R68

Is there a special version of it for RK3229 devices? Should I use the one from Zidoo?

I have the same problem, the only "solution" I have found is to send to chromecast.
              A shit of course.

Hello All, just looking to buy this box. The website says "R - BOX 4K HD TV Box 64Bit Android 5.1.1". Its unclear how can the OS be 64 bit when the processor RK3229 in only 32 bit. I wrote to the seller asking this question and they replied saying the OS is 64 bit. I am still puzzled. Can someone who has run any tests confirm this one way or another? Thanks.

Thanks. I thought so. Would you know if the new boxes with Amlogic S905X are better than this one? A similar priced box with 2G RAM and 64 bit Android 6.0 is also available. Atleast on paper it looks better than RBox. Any suggestions on 905X vs rk3229? Thanks in advance

This box, for the price, is not a bad buy. IMHO
                      kind regards

                        +1.

Many feel this box, in terms of video capability, delivers beyond its modest specs.

Whatever you get, having 2GB of RAM is always a better choice.

Low points for this box, WiFi range not great due to internal antenna, Eth limited to 10/100, small system storage that is not unified and the locked firmware bits. But all boxes have limitations.

If you have an interest in OpenELEC, you may want to focus on AMLs. But as a good budget player that does what it is supposed to, the R-Box 2GB/8G is a little jewel.....and you get a clock.

If this is your first budget TV box, you could do a lot worse.

Yes there are worse that are brand new chipsets too... 905x also has some good ones now that firmware fixed by Freaktab cookers. Buying a 20-30 Dollar box look at whats been done to them in advance of getting them. Whats working and not working is normally in thread for the device.... better to know what is and isnt working before you order unlike us who just buy and then go insane brick box 20 times trying to improve them
Many devices now mk902ii/Shield/Mk68 /Ugoos/neox5/minix5 (yes they still work lol) mk80 no it doesnt work lol.

Would you recommend 905x box "X9" over this? They are same price and both have 2G RAM. But X9 has 64 bit Android 6.0

Only reason id say yes is because storage can be increased via sd card. Plus bit more speed....

Can someone test if auto frame-rate switching and 1080i interlaced video can play on R-Box RK3229 firmware?
