I may have to open the box to look for the pins to short so I can get into Maskron. How do you open the case?

I have 2 of these I have been working with. I also have another rk3229 with 1g running 4.4 that doesn't have any issues. This is the first time I have worked with android boxes, although I run custom ROMS on my phones.

I had the same reboot issues when playing video on LAN. It is not confined to KODI for me. I tried every img I could find with the exception of the last one posted. I am flashing it now.

I managed to brick one of the boxes trying to get 4.4 to run on it. Fixing it was rather painless tripping the eMMC as seen in the photos and booting into MaskROM mode.

I could not get the netbox mod posted earlier to boot, either through a full image or by flashing the partials, but it did not brick the box.

If anyone has suggestions on alternate images that I can break apart and learn from in flashing please pass them along.

Here are the guides / posts / tools I used to get up to speed with making backups and flashing...

Use rockchipDumpSplit with AndroidTools to back up firmware

To restore the partial backups made with the tutorial above:
in Android Tools start in Download Image tab
RIGHT CLICK in the white numbered parameters area
      CLICK "Load Config"
Select the IMAGE_UTF16.cfg file created from the tutorial above. (in the folder you created your partials)
CHECK the box of any partial you would like to flash and CLICK Run

      Android Tools 2.1
      RockchipDumpSplit

      FLASH IMAGES
      Rockchip Batch Tool 1.8

I don't know what is going on then. After I used the 4.4 driver assistant to uninstall the existing driver, and the use it to reinstall the driver, my problem went away. If you have AML drivers installed, maybe you should uninstall them first.

As A shot in the dark, use the 4.4 Driver Assistant to remove the driver, restart the Windows PC and then use the 4.4 DA to install the driver.
Sorry I don't know to go from here. Maybe Scooter will have a solution tomorrow when he gets his R-Box.

I did all that. Now I am trying to figure out how to open the dang box without damaging it.

Sorry, I am not getting notifications from this thread. To open the box, remove the four rubber pads, remove the four screws, use a thumb nail, guitar pick or unused credit card to pry the top from the bottom, start on the long sides at the top of the box. The PCB is held in place by only two screws.

After the latest full firmware image, flashed with the Android Tool 2.3, followed by the waiting tiny OTA, I have had zero unscheduled reboots in 6+ hours of playing content, that previously experienced the reboots, streaming over Eth. So, while I don't want to tempt fate, I am thinking the Eth reboot bug has been squashed.

Still remaining are the USB unmount bug and the ES Explorer display bug. Otherwise, for the price of the box, I am satisfied with this purchase. Not too bad from an early adopter's point of view.
Of course, if my opinion should change, I will post back and eat some crow.

No duty, there is a bit more silver in that lining....actual silver. I did not get extra charges from using DHL, but evidentially, it is a bit of a gamble on whether or not the duty is imposed.

Recommend flashing the latest full image via PC, afterwards, a tiny OTA will be waiting that states the reboot fix. In the WirelessUpdate app's settings, untick the WiFi only box if using Eth or it won't show the OTA. Ditch the installed Kodi and other bloat. Should be good to go. Remote is a learning remote.

Here for the image. Some tips, though I doubt you will need.
Sorry about the indirect link to the image, on phone, posting is a drag.

Grrrrrrrrr. My box will not download the OTA updates, and I can not get it to connect to my computer. I have to wait for a full zip install.....

I did a complete re-install today, but did not help with the download.
