Ok Bit of a theory about these updates all speculation,

I reflashed and did the update yesterday, did not install or alter any apps just updated thru Google, Applied SU update, watched a bit of Netflix and Kodi confirmed reboot bug gone over ethernet.
New Update OTA today would not install got this error.


Thought since we have updated SU etc, l would do a factory reset. that will undo everything and then it should go in,
Reset went ok but update would not apply same error as above.

Full reflash with previous .img (latest) went ok

Applied Yesterday OTA went in 2.5mb or something like that.
Then today's OTA was applied and went in ok also.
Any thoughts on this.

clarkss12 maybe a factory Data reset and wipe will do it(settings/Backup and Reset). Though it takes about 15-20 minutes for the box to get going afterwards.

Things to check for no USB connection - Don't use a USB 3.0 port. Use only the PC's main USB ports(motherboard), no extenders/hubs. Disable power management on the USB port being used. I know you are able to get to your other RKs, but this is a different animal. I never had to use RK Driver Assistant 4.4 until this box, always used 4.1 for my other RKs(3188, 3288).

Trebor and I both had OTA issues after removing the bloat and the stock Kodi, a reset/wipe should return the box to the original state.

I didnt use power supply. Usb into socket beside sd card. Red light on box. Opened 2.3 flash tool. Pressed reset nothing. Again unplugged nothing. Pressed reset and power button 2 seconds sees box now no issue. (i missed that in thread. Ota failed to install. I re flashed and erased nan. Reloaded everything worked.

Followed your instructions, using 4.4, uninstalled drivers, re-installed drivers and rebooted. Connected USB cable into port next to SD card slot on box, and other end into the front USB 2 port on the front of the computer, depressed the power button, while depressing the "reset" button the whole time. No matter what I try, it always says "USB device not Recognized".

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

Yes noticing same error. But i goong to try erase sd this time try again? They change few things in log. I get new drivers in the latest firmware for peguas 11 ethernet drivers?

I did he data reset and data wipe and re-installed from pen drive. I did have one OTA download a couple of days ago, so it did work one time.

Do everything in this post. But when selecting driver go to your 4.4 file you down loaded then 86 then win7 folder.

Trebor i did re flash. This time i said install later. Saved ota into another folder. Both updates worked. When i re opened update apk and choose install. I run logs from first update to last one but getting late to compare what they change. If anyone wants to look at that log just go to recovery and select it from menu. Or adb it to pc. But so far no complants here for this budget box. 😁

It is a nice budget box. Still be nice if the box had unified storage. Also, any way to know if the box is properly rooted?

Yes its properly rooted but super su has to be updated. How much does your storage read? Mines 2 gigs and 3 on user data? Missing a few gigs

After a fresh USB flashing and the latest OTAs, 1.94GB Internal storage, 3GB user. On a device with 8GB, would not unifying these be a better option? Like many makers(Ugoos) have done on RK 8GB and 16GB devices. Seem a couple of apps/games could quickly fill available storage. I know some apps can me moved to user, but that's not the best solution IMO.
