So I received my R-BOX the other day. Ethernet seems faulty right out the box. Won't connect that way to any of the routers I own. Keeping only the ethernet box ticked does nothing. Rebooting routers also doesn't help. Every other device I own has no issues via ethernet.
So I'm forced to use it via wi-fi. It also won't update to the latest "detected" firmware. It finds the update and I can download it but then when it reboots it won't apply that update.
I'll grab that latest update and try it via sd card. Hopefully that does the trick.

No DRM support so I can't use my subscription DSTV Now, and SuperSport apps on it. Only minor good thing so far is that this is the first of the "cheaper" droid boxes that I don't have to adjust the Exodus settings in Kodi for lip-sync issues. lol

Try another cable maybe, long shot, it happens
Check that one of the pins in the RJ45 in R-Box has not gone flat.
I think I showed in the first lot of posts about DRM can be an issue with these media players.

Look at the positive side Exodus is giving you less stress

Have tried a couple different cables. All pins look fine. Cheers for the help though.

Yeah, it might be better though if they wouldn't put it in the item description that there is that type of support.

Try updating to the latest firmware to end the connection issues. (out of the box its goofy as per thread on network)

On wifi i notice this device is sometimes hard to connect to wifi and speeds not consistant. But beta testing something right now that seems to solve my issue.

If you are looking for DSTV Now to work, I can point you to two devices that works. I also believe that DRM is not the issue, neither Android 5.n, because I am getting great results from two boxes, one with Android 4.4.4 one with Android 5.1. One has nice DRM protection, one does not. both works...

What I can tell you is that with everything I tried, I still can not get a box with the Supersport APP working...

What I can say is that I am about to get into the build of the R-BOX to give it the same light-weight treatment as I gave the oh-so-broken NexBOX Z68. Everybody still uses my build because of the awesome response you get once flashed with my firmware. i just have not had the time to sit with the R-Box and give it the 100% over...

I will also be looking at exactly why the R-Box is not catching DSTV NOW. I will be using the ZIDOO X1II to see if I can not get this problem sorted...

Like many here, he seems to prefer the challenge of a good basket-case(with potential) over a well functioning unit. As stated elsewhere, if it works well, it's boring.....I think they call it Andromasochism.

I have not spent much time on it lately, but it usually does what I ask of it, slow booter though. It was left with a couple of small bugs(no upd8s since the good ol' days), I don't remember which. I had the bug list in a txt file on my computer, but I needed the space back, so I deleted it. :-)
Some here have reworked the F/W to overcome some things, like increasing system space. I have yet to try these, but hopefully I get to it one day.

Of course the field has widened, so looking around never hurts, but a person could do worse than this box.

This thread is not dead evidently, just a little semi-stasis.
