Thought I had good news, but box is back to rebooting, I hope it is just mine. The reboots are not thermal or power supply induced. It did great for several hours, and then started doing the reboots for whatever reason. IR temp gun shows about 45c when it rebooted. Screen freezes and seconds later it reboots.
When this box isn't rebooting, it is snappy and has some of the best picture quality I have seen. 4K@60fps(on 1080 monitor) looked beautiful and ran well. All DTS and Dolby TrueHD tried played flawlessly. The UI is fairly quick and browsing the web works well.
But for the constant reboots, I would have considered it about the best $35 you could spend.
I hope it gets fixed, there is much to like about the R-Box.
Trebor's does not have this behavior, so I hope mine is just a lemon and not indicative of the model.

Very cool... Can we get the led to be like disco strobe?? Waiting on my experiment shipping free. I got a few other devices in so i can wait now. Ill say the tracking sucks on the free shipping so if your the type that wants to know when youll get the delivery dont choose the free option lol....

Did you do a factory reset?? Maybe Geekbuying can pressure the manufacture to provide a firmware for it.

I have done all the standard things, wipe/factory reset(from Android and recovery), removed all bloat, updated and re-updated, changed power supplies, forced air to rule out thermal issues. I'm starting to think the hacked up storage could be at fault. Trebor is looking at his logs, tonight I will capture mine and we can compare. As stated, Trebor is not experiencing the frequent reboots.
If the reboots were not occurring, I would have no complaints. After I have exhausted ideas to its cause, I will ask GkB about it.
This box played perfect for 4-5 hrs. Then it started infrequent reboots, then very frequent.
Much potential exists for this budget box.
Still optimistic.

One thing for certain, it will cost too much to ship it back. What are your options if it is a defective product? I have had boxes that constantly rebooted, and it was always bad firmware.

The root cause of your problem, you paid extra for fast shipping. The rest of us that opted for free shipping, will receive boxes that will work flawlessly.

I think I may have a handle on the reboot bug, but too early for confirmation.

Hopefully you guys have no such issue. For a $35 box, it is impressive when it is not rebooting.

If you guys do have the issue and I hope you don't, and if I am successful in locating the cause. I will gladly share for the low low price of just $7. That's only $3.50 each!

Ok can you fix all these issues in about 15-35 days please because Id like my clock to be working when it gets here... If you fix it ill pay the 7 bucks because i should have paid that just to know where it is lmao
