    Thanks for the OTA

Latest OTA in and working, FIFA soccer demo video plays well (previously failed) and they have added off icon to the task bar.
Used WiFi for Download of OTA update 100% no resets straight in easy, and performing well,
Have paid a lot more cash for Media players that has run a lot worse than this, looks like we have some support from manufacturer.

Not a powerhouse but appears to the pretty job well for some of us.
Netflix still has a Audio Sync issue

If yo have trouble using the WirelessUpdate app, rename OTA.zip to update.zip and copy to card or flash drive. Reboot box and it will tell you it found an update, and ask you if you want to apply it. Click yes. It should spend a second checking the file and then reboot to the little green droid with the spinning gear.
Hope it improves your experience clarkss12.
RISCy, per your instructions, I verified my build prop is the same as yours. Next I downloaded your OTA zip (thank you very much), renamed "update.zip" and copied it to a USB stick. About a minute after I inserted the USB stick into my box, the OS saw the update and offered to install it.

After it installed this new firmware, I cranked up the ZDMC that you recommended and it seemed to work but struggled, I was still using WiFi, since you said the Ethernet caused reboots (confirmed by me). I stopped ZDMC and re-connected my Ethernet, restarted ZDMC, ureka, Avatar is playing flawlessly using DTS-HD MA audio. After about 15 minutes, the box re-booted. Now will have to figure out why it rebooted.

      Thanks for your help.

A couple more observations, aside from ZDMC causing the box to reboot after 2 to 5 minutes, it does not play Blue-Ray rips that are encoded with VC1 codec, very well at all.

It does not play live TV streams that are interlaced, ex. 1080i, which most of my OTA TV channels are delivered in. Guess it does not have enough CPU power to de-interlace them.

Browsing the internet is much faster now, than with the older firmware.

Bottom line, it still has a long way to go for it to be a media player.

Their specs says that it should decode VC-1, but it doesn't. It says it decodes Mpeg 2, but it is not very good at it.

          Video Supported
          Video Decoder:4K VP9 Video decoder, 4K 10-bits H.265/H.264 Video decoder, 1080P other video decoders (VC-1, MPEG-1/2/4, VP6/8)
Video Encode:1080P video encoder for H.264 and VP8

Let's hope the two OTAs in a week are indicative of the maker's support strategy. I imagine it is not, but let's hope.
This box is a quad A7, so going in I assumed processing power would be limited. I mostly use Kodi and its derivatives to stream via official add-ons. ZDMC is only one of several I have tried. Zidoo has an RK3229 box(X1 II), maybe the ZDMC they have for that has some optimizations for the 3229, but I cannot find that in the wild.
This SoC is still relatively young, my hope is that it will improve as it matures.

I hoped that the Eth issue was limited to my box, as Trebor is not getting the reboots. While it is unfortunate that you too have observed this issue, it may indicate a F/W issue, and therefore may be resolved in time. I expect some issues when buying a device on the first bounce, it almost insures "lab rat" status for early adopters.
A new brand or unbranded box amplifies the lab rat thing.....but this fact was known to me going in.

After Scooter receives his, maybe the four of us can compile a list of known shortcomings and submit it to GkB. Ideally, GkB can exert some influence on the maker to resolve some of them.
            Cheers.

BTW Do you have a USB to Eth adapter you could use to see if the reboot issue still happens?

Yes, but I won't get back to the cave for several hours. Trying to resolve a plumbing issue at the moment. Fortunately, the plumbing problem is intake related, not exhaust.

I just installed SPMC 16.3 and my box rebooted as soon as I clicked to play a blue-Ray ripped movie.

Testing of external USB to ethernet all fail to do anything in Android so far, must need a driver.

There is no RK codec in SPMC 6.3. There is only mediacodec and mediacodec surface.
