Also make sure you are not using a USB 3.0 port. Turn off power saving feature on the USB 2.0 port you use. Use the PC's main USB ports, not those from the front of the case and not ports on a USB add in card. May also try a different USB male-to-USB male cable, the shorter the better.

When your box is on, what color is the Power LED?

Freshly bought this USB m-to-m its 2m. Will try those tips as well with the usb ports.

The Power LED is blue. I must say it's weaker blue then it was when it was working.

As a result of the weaker blue LED, do you have another suitable AC adapter(power supply) you can try?

Power supplies on many of these types of devices have been found to be an issue.

If your box is defective and you have to return it, if you used PayPal to pay, they may pay for the return shipping, so I would look in to it.

        Good luck.

Thanks yeah I have another power supply to try but the screen stays death even when the led is like it's should be. And the SPDIF port doesn't glow then as well.

Tried the usb 2.0 ports on the motherboard and same result.

But as well with connecting to usb3 port on the box itself for the flash tool it's weak blue dunno if that's supposed to be?

After you plug in USB cable, you can also plug power pack,

Well I received my 3g+16GB version box on friday and I have updated it to the latest firmware version since then using the USB tool.
A few glitches were obvious on the factory version so its necessary to update it to the Sep 18 version using the link provided on geekbuying.
USB tool 2.05 version didnt work as it wouldnt recognize the R-box Pro on USB4 port.
Lateron using the 2.0.62 version and after applying the license patch as suggested by Riscy dude finally it recognized the box.
After the F/W update the box was stuck on R-BOX PRO logo for a long time the first time but on second reboot by pulling the power plug it boot up normally.
Also note it only worked on USB port 3 for me. The port 4 didnt recognize the box by USB tool for some reason.
The native Youtube app is outdated but it can be deleted and get latest one from Play Store easily.
Kodi came with version 17.0 Alpha and not much useful addons but once I added a few repositories it is fully operational.
Audio pass through works good for both Dolby Digital and AC3 for local files. Will try in Kodi later on.
Antutu score is 35061 pretty much in line with the others reported here.
Overall very pleased with the Video quality and snappy response but it comes in very empty so some work is required to bring it to full functionality.
Hope others get their boxes fast and add more to the review here. Good Luck

Has anyone tried the DTS and Dolby Digital passthrough in the native Kodi 17?
Mine didnt work for dts at all but dolby digital partially works with alot of audio cuts every 2 seconds.
                    Any tips for us ?

                          Hey people

Just got this box my self, 3G ram version. The software on it is so messy. There is an extra settings app that just don't fit at all and you got to go through it to get to the settings page every android user knows.
Bit flaky when it comes to passthrough of any sort of sounds. ac3 works some times, but mostly you just get loads of clipping. Same in both kodi and it's android fork spmc.

So wanting to get rid of the software and start over. So just wondering if any one has got twrp going on the box yet?
Not had much luck getting it to boot twrp, but then i suck at getting the configs right lol

Hi trotter. I have updated it to 20160927 released firmware and found a few bugs were fixed.
So first thing is try updating that. Secondly the passthrough I found works OK with the local media using native Android players but Kodi passthrough doesnt work for me.
I dont even think we have any options in terms of firmware at the moment so I am waiting. But so far the box decently performs all the stuff I need.

                              Thanks for the reply.
Didn't know there was an update. You would think the update app would point that out :-/
Will do some testing with the native players. I'm using kodi with plexconnect addon, so I could just use plex app and get it to load in the native android player.
I hoping the networked media is going to be ok tho. Should be as the speed is not much different.

forgot to say, it took 128G SanDisk Ultra formated as exfat with out any complaints. The last box i had wasn't happy at all with exfat, or the size of it

Trying to update with the firmware R-BOX PRO_S912_3GB_AP6330_IMG_18092016_AndroidPC_es.zip. Found several tutorials but none is working. Unfortunally I do not have a A - A USB cable.
When I place the firmware on SD card formated in fat32 and follow the "SD Upgrade Tutorial:" I select the "update from ext" and after selecting the file I get the failed messages shown in screenshot.

The file is good, I downloaded it three times and can unzip it without warning. When U do a an local OTA update the r-box restarts and complains about header wrong. What am I doing wrong?
