Something weird happened. Charged my tablet last night. Used it for 50 minutes a couple of hours ago and checked the battery before shutting down. It was at 91%. Fired up again now, used it for 10/15 minutes, checked the battery again and it's at 86% but with a total of 32 minutes on battery?!!! What the deuce? What happened to the counter? Why didn't it count the 50 minutes prior + 20 minutes or so this time?!

      Great news, M9 fans!!!!!!

I ran across a new release (beta) of a genuine M9 firmware with SDK 2.0

I'm download now, and I'll start work on v1.9.

FYI - I found a clue as to the volume drop over the May stock ROM. I installed alsamixer and found that the 'speaker' output was set to 81% (51 out of 63.). On the May ROM it was set to 95% (60 out of 63.). It can be worked around by using alsamixer, but it gets reset after every sleep! I've been poking around but can't for the life of me see where this level is set. Asound.conf and asound.state have no effect. Must be somewhere on the VM side.

Let's hope they fixed it in this next firmware.

Wow, my Internet is slow tonight...I'm still trying to download this thing..

This is a fantastic find. I've been playing and you can use the commands

              Su
              alsa_amixer set "Speaker" "60"

In a terminal to set the speaker level. Setting Tasker to run those commands every time the screen is turned on means the sound is set to proper loudness whenever you're using the tablet. A bit kludgy, but it works and is unintrusive in use.

You mean to say that version 1.9 is already out, Randy? If so, I just can't seem to find it. Could be me, though...

Thanks for the tip on using Tasker! I was using script manager when I was experimenting.

That's probably the new beta release Randy mentioned. It's supposed to be sdk 2.0. I think Randy has already cooked something for us (RileyRom 1.9!!) but had some issues uploading it. Stay tuned.
