I am pretty sure the ATV version of Netflix doesn't do download at all, only streaming. I sideloaded some mobile versions of Netflix. looks like netflix_5.8.0_24642.apk works the best, but still only 2.0 audio. The UI is goobered up since it expects a touchscreen. It is usable with both the TV remote and air mouse. It also isn't quite 1080p but looks pretty good. I have been trying to download a 1080p TV show using Terrarium to compare but it keeps failing after an hour or two.

Anyway to backup whole firmware via twrp or other lower version of twrp. I cannot backup the firmware. But doing ok on android 6 version

edit: just dont use/check compress method to avoid error.

I flash nano version and installed miracast but not working but on stock it works. Is there a way to make it work?

Anyone can please share their original build.prop file from this ROM
I had a problem with Netflix TV it had a gray bar at the bottom but I fixed it by changing some values on the build.prop
but Now I don't have the option to enable or disable the Navigation bar

Meanwhile I had to install an app to see the notifications

I can send you the one from Nano. I just reloaded it and will try your fix. I went back to the vendor 0928 rom for two main reasons: the gray bar in Netflix and screensaver doesn't work in Nano or Stock.

I will try uploading it as an attachment (never done that here). OK, it doesn't like files with "extension" prop. Will rename it to build.prop.txt. That seemed to work.

Edit: Your changes to build.prop didn't work for me. The first screen after the NEXUS screen, with the 4 spinning circles, was goobered up and never got past that. Luckily I used the /18 box with the reset button

Just use Amlogic Customization Tool to unpack the burn package (.img file).

            Thank You!

They look almost the same, mine has only a few changes
I don't know why It didn't worked for you
            Maybe try my build.prop

I guess I'll leave my notification bar hidden for now until I found a solution

I don't know if this this has already been posted somewhere. I got screensaver to work on Nano. I suspect it will be the same for Stock. Under Developer Options there is a setting for Keep Alive while USB charging (second one from the top). Set it to OFF and screensave works. Of course you also have to go into screensaver and set your options there.

Don't if this has been mentioned before, but I installed the nano version, and whenever i want to open an image it opens Kodi.

I flashed it one more time but same. I click a picture, it start up Kodi.

Do you have another app to handle images?
Nano doesn't has any so Kodi is the only option
Try to install an app to handle picture or install another GAPPS

Thanks, that explains the issue actually, and i hadn't thought about that.

Yeah, you can just install Google Photos from the Play Store.

Howdy, i just registered so I can post this reply... I received my M8S PRO+ yesterday and so far I'm impressed. Out of all the crappy TV boxes I've tried so far, this one is half way decent! I really only use it for watching stuff in Google Movies as it has the DRM installed it allows me to download the movies in HD and watch them offline. Without the DRM you would only get 480p. I'm not too impressed with the Metoo custom interface, I would have preferred a more standard Android launcher, and even after installing a few different launchers, it seems almost impossible to get rid completely off the installed launcher. That, and a few spurious proggies I don't know what they are but can't seem to get rid off either, probably spyware or something, compelled me to investigate a custom rom and that is how I ended up on this site.

Some people seem to not care too much if they end up bricking this little box but with shipping to and conversion from US to AUD it cost me just under $60. Not something I just want to throw in the bin if I can help it. So read the warnings about bad Samsung MMC etc, even installed the AMlogic test proggie. Interestingly enough, the proggie tells me that the MMC is NOT on the danger list but when I opened up the box, it's marked with SEC713 B041 KLMAG1JENB which all point to bad ram. Build date is 8/15/2017. This should have been safe but doesn't look like it is. BE WARNED!

Pity, I was looking forward to a nice clean, lean looking Android without all the bs from Metoo.

                    cheers

Bought a Mecool M8s Pro+ in September with SEC713 and V08.15. Was freezing all the time with standard Android. First flashed standard V09.19 than second flash to NANO V10.06 no brick till now. Hope it helps you.

Amlogic proggie uses an old Samsung test prog so danger list is not relevant, have to interpret result manually !!

As hansampf says, you may be lucky if you don't have the 0829 OEM FW as standard ...
Amazing these old boxes are still turning up.
                        Good luck.

The test program tells me that this rev is not on the known defect list, which is interesting as it pretty much matches the warning at the start of this thread.... Still, agreed that you should always check manually, hence I even opened it up to inspect the actual chip. Not that it matters but I bought it from Geekbuying.
