    1. I added the generic version of CWM Recovery. It is a file called cwmrecovery.img. If you want, you can flash it instead of the recovery.img (this will work with the 3G version too). It should work, OK...but see the previous post for a brief set of instructions.

    2. I added a template folder with a readme file if you wish to make a CWM flashable version of the ROM. Now keep in mind...you have to be running CWM before you can use this...and none of the parameters can change. So it is only good for re-flashing the current ROM. You also can't change the user app space size and use CWM to flash. I try to keep my ROMs in standard file sizes, but I have no control over what Pipo does in the firmware...and since I don't own an M9 Pro tablet...I can't test it. So if you have some major geek blood running through your veins...live it up...otherwise I recommend just flashing the old fashion way.

    Hi

thanks very much I used the CWM IN THE WIFI ROM and now have CWM working on PIPO M9 3G. Thank you very much for your help.

With the advices of nicaise (Big Thx !), I decided to install 3G Rom 1.2_3G with the parameter file 6 Go : the tablet seems reliable, smoothy for high profile mkv and launcher, wifi is good for me (I can connect two floors below in the garden), I still can't judge for the screen, because I didn't remove the protection (it seems to be ok, bright & visual is already clean) : great job !
I'll test it more deeply for the rest of the week but for me, I'm very pleased (as always with Pipo).
I await to receive a sdhc and choose a good leather case to complete the package, and it will be all for the moment.
I'm happy to return to Pipo because my last experience with Voyo A15 (11 "5) was a disaster.
Only Hyundai T10 has brought me so much pleasure that these Pipo (better than the Cube or Momo)...

Thx again Randy for this ROM !

          For me,
since rom v1.2 i have noticed a more quick fix of GPS (in fews seconds : 10 satellites found with 5 or 6 fixed) and gps better performance but it seems, in fact when i touch the back of tablet (aluminium) , signal decreases a lot. Strange isn't it ?

The very very bad thing is in waze or maps when i use tablet in car for navigation (driving), it don't find any satellites and of course any fix too. Navigation is simply impossible.
I have always gps search message and when i stop the car, after fews seconds it find (with gps status) approx 10 satellites and with 5 or 6 fixed. It's very frustrating.

Do someone use maps or waze normaly with his pipo m9pro ?
Do someone have tweaks to make gps works good ?
Is is possible to set or to modify gps config file to make gps better ?

Please help and thanks to give your help

Thanks for the hard work in putting these roms together. I have a couple questions, though. Your thread with the 1.2 version doesn't have a reply option, so I need to ask here.

First, you mention there was something corrupt in the wireless version. Is that still the case? If so, why do you so have a link to the wireless rom? I have the wireless version, but I don't wanna mess anything up by flashing it.

Second, I haven't been able to find any any about this (but maybe I missed it somewhere..?). Will flashing the 3G version on a wifi-only device (or flashing wifi-only version on a 3G device) brick the tablet? Conceptually, it seems to me that it would only affect the 3G working (or not), but I don't know all the details, so I wanted to check.

Lastly, is there any info about flashing the TWRP recovery? I've searched around, but can't find too much. Perhaps that means it isn't possible, but I thought maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places. I noticed you included the CWM recovery, but I was also curious about this. Sort of related - if we flash CWM recovery (or possibly TWRP), is it possible to go back to the M9 Pro recovery easily?

The wifi version has been done and is now on the download page. The feedback thread for 1.2 is a sticky on the Pipo forum.

The only difference between the two ROMs is drivers/settings for the 3g modem. Otherwise the ROMs are interchangeable. You might get higher battery consumption running the 3g on a wifi only tablet.

I'm sure that you can run TWRP. It is similar to CWM in that you just flash the recovery.img.

I haven't even tried it...so I can't say whether it works or not on this device.

                    Thanks for the quick responses!

I am a bit hesitant to give TWRP a try, in case I brick it somehow. Guess I'll stick with the CWM version for not, to be safe. Thanks again!

Ur rom works like charm but one thing I wonder - if I can just update included supersu with one from google store https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...infire.supersu
B4 I'll do that should I uninstall old one or just replace withold one in background ?

You can install supersu if you like.

Is there any particular reason you don't like the open sourced one I'm using? I haven't heard anything negative about it.

If there are problems, I can simply go back to using Supersu.

So, I did the default recovery.img and decided I wanted to try the CWM one instead. I ran into a problem when flashing it. The problem is that when I Reboot2Flash, it doesn't seem to restart the tablet after flashing only the recovery. I had to re-flash the entire rom to get it responsive again. Did I do anything wrong here, or is there some method I missed?

Depending on what version of Windows you are using, I have noticed some problems with the flash tool getting devices to reboot to flash. I'm not quite sure, but all of a sudden all of my computers quit working at the same time. All you need to do is get your tablet into flash mode manually.

I'm not sure if the M9 is the same, but on my M8 Pro, I hold down the back button, press and hold reset with a paperclip and press the power button and it goes into flash mode.

You can also use the Reboot app I put in my ROM to reboot to bootloader and it does the same thing...I like that method best as long as I'm flashing a device that already has my rooted ROM installed.

Sorry, I think I may have been unclear. I haven't had any problems getting into Flash mode. However, I did have to use the method you mentioned once, because it got stuck for whatever reason. I saw it written in the PDF file included in your .zip.

Actually, I was wondering about going the other direction. That is, getting stuck in Flash mode and not being able to get out of flash mode. It seems the only way to do it when flashing only the recovery was to ultimately reflash the entire rom again. It is mostly a concern with time. In the future, if I wanted to flip-flop recoveries for any reason, it'd be nice not to need to reflash the entire rom again.

Flash mode times out after a few minutes of inactivity. You might see if waiting until it times out and reboots on it's own. That might save you from having to reflash everything.

That is kind of strange, I haven't encountered that before. Usually after I flash just a recovery or just a kernel, mine have always rebooted.
