Pipo M9 Pro RileyROM 1.2 (M9 with 1920x1200 display) [Feedback]

Download the RKBATCHTOOL. this is available on many different sites. Use it to flash the firmware. It looks a little different, but works much the same. It uses the same drivers, so if you successfully flashed my ROM, this tool should work.

The difference is that you have to browse to the file you downloaded.

Thanks so much Randy. I'll just load it up on the same xp machine I flashed your rom from. I really appreciate everything you're doing here and I can't wait to get my Pipo back so I can re-flash your rom.

          Hi everybody,
just installed the RileyROM 1.2, but I encountered a big problem... expecially with some apps (i.e. Angry Birds), after 2 minutes the screen starts freezing, and then the tab reboots...
Anyone the same? Is it a problem of the rom or does it regards the tab?
I own it from 5 days, and with the original rom there weren't those problems...

If anyone wants to test. Try v1.1 and see if it does the same thing...then try the latest stock firmware and see if you get the freezes.

That way we can narrow it down.

It sounds like a kernel/system problem.

Also, you could try the v1.1 kernel with the v1.2 ROM. And vise versa.

Does anyone else have this problem.

I don't have one of these tablets to test, sorry.

I managed to improve wifi signal a bit, but still not best.
                What you need to do:
                1. Download any terminal for android
                2. Run su command to make sure it has root
                3. type in "iwconfig wlan0 power off"
                4. type in "iwconfig wlan0 txpower 32"
What it does it increses signal reception a bit and turns off power management for wifi, this might drain a bit more of battery but I found it to improve stability of the connection too.

                    Simple....

Open my ROM folder, and rename the kernel.img to something else like kernel1.2.img.

Copy in the kernel you wish to flash to the same folder.

Open the flash tool and uncheck all of the boxes, except kernel.img.

                    Don't erase IDB...just flash the kernel.img.

On boot, you should have the alternate kernel running on your device.

I use Linux commands, but there is a Windows app called Wendal's Tool.

You can Google it. Sorry, I don't have a link to it.

That firmware is what this ROM is based on. There's nothing to upgrade.

When I received my M9 Pro 3G last week the stock ROM version was 08/09/2013. Then I Flash with Riley ROM V1.2 .After that I download the FW from PIPO website M9pro software_3G_englishversion_20130729 .I flash back to this FW since I never dump the Stock ROM. I do this just to making sure I can revert back to Factory ROM for warranty claim. After playing around for few hours I flash back to Riley ROM V1.2 but this time I using CWMRecovery and clear the cache. I never notice any Wifi degradation over the two ROMs but I did noticed Antutu Benchmark gives slightly higher value with Riley ROM V1.2. Thumb up Randy for your good work.
