I only see 2 buttons, power off is missing.

OK so I am not going nuts then.... Minix removed power off for some reason. I guess they want you to use the remote or the physical button.

However as I said in the readme, the reboot APP I put in the ROM will power off the unit properly.

OK what I mean by power off button is when I press the button in the status bar the pop up menu only gives me 3 choices. Sleep and reboot. The button in the middle is missing which was power off.

No one else is seeing that?


As for making Audio settings stick, this was a problem even on 3066 ROMs.
I never was able to figure out how to make it stick.

I have to say a massive thank you for your FW. I used my X7 for about 4 hours last night with only 1 random shutdown & 2 system freezes which believe me, is a million times better than what I was getting before so that has to be worth a donation of some kind. It may not be much but if you continue to improve Minix's shoddy FW's I'll continue to donate.

Also when ethernet and wifi and turned on its killing my router. Cant connect to it with any device. When I turn wifi off. I can connect my phones again.

Dont know says 1080p so i guess so..
1080 kernel havent tryied it yet.

I have tried the 1080p with Airpin Kernel. Unfortunately I am unable to get smooth video:

xbmc (libstagefright hw acceleration)
Diceplayer (with hw acceleration)
Stockplayer

are all choppy (even 720p is not smooth all the time).

Anyway, thanks for your work! At least, I have no stability problems with this fw. But without smooth 1080p playback, the X7 is no use for me. I hope there is still room for improvement, as the hardware should be more than capable of 1080p Video..

A lot of people seem to still be reporting video problems, even with the vsync fix in place. Almost all of them report issues with 1080p, and some with 720p.

My first observation is that generally 1080p/720p/480p are pretty meaningless when it comes to the issue of whether or not a video can play smoothly on ANY given piece of equipment!! The salient piece of information that the engineers need is the bitrate! I saw one message today that mentioned the bitrate being used... it said he was using 7mbs. I don't know what sort of equipment you guys have, but in my possession I only have 2 things that can touch 7mbs... my desktop and my bluray player. I think maybe my iPad will actually play it, but the iPad specs call for a cap at 5mbs.

Because of the 5mbs spec for my iPad, I have created my video library with that in mind, using Handbrake I have kept the bitrate (even on HD 720/1080) under 5mbs. Now, on some movies, that can be a real challange - high action calls for higher bitrates. But Handbrake excels at producing quality video at lower bitrates (like XBMC, it is a freely openly developed app).

And I have no trouble playing my videos on the X7, and very few crashes.

Someone on the Minix forums mentioned changing the hdmi output to 1080p 24Hz eliminated a lot of the shuddering, I'm not at home to test this out. Maybe there onto something?

Wait abit, mabey i am mixing things up. My clip is exactly 6729 kbit/s. Did i mess upp mbit/mbyte thing when i wrote 7mbit bitrate?

Can't install Games with extra game Data.

Please Help. I am trying to install some good games. I am on Finless 1.5. for my MiniX X7. with 14GB Parameter file I can not install any game that wants to put extra game data in. Anyone knows how to fix please let me know. I have tried GTA III, Modern Combat 4. No go stays on downloading game for over 24 hours.. Shows like it is downloading extra game data and nothing.

Side note i want to use my SD slot and it won't take a stick. I put it in and it never clicks and locks in. Im thinking of opening it up to see why its stock in eject mode. tried several different brands Any ideas on this. Don't want to go through an RMA and be without this Awesome device.

No, you are fine. 6729kbs is 7mbs (round up).

My point is though, that many people are not reporting the bitrate, but it is important. I don't know what the x7 is capable of... I don't think Minix published a spec for it. The specs they published where written by a marketing type... who doesn't know a bit from a frame.

Interesting. Something I did removed the power off button...
I am going to try stock ROM again and see and then if there, figure out what I did.
Might be the custom launcher2 I made.
