No I was talking about the 12-22-2018 X99 firmware....its not rooted. I tried it. Where did u get 9.1 and for what box is it?
MK39 does not look like the same box.....did you try it?

and as i remember correct , the MK39 Roms are running on X99 , someboby here tested it ,

Yeah I tried the 12-22 2018, says its rooted but it not.I'm using the rooted 10-24-2018. It runs pretty good but yeah the playstore doesn't update. And now my Sling TV won't run on it...Sling updated there app. Think I'm gonna give the MK39 Rom a tire....wish me luck...lol

first , the Changelog of the linked Rom of 22.12.18 says it is "rooted" , did you tried this Link :

I'm using the 10-24-2018 rom, works good, but cant update google play. 12-22-2018 not rooted. And no not even gonna try the MK39 because its also just 7.1.2

Aptoide and apkpure don't update google play either. Having the same problem with my X96 Max running android 9.0 4g 64g.

Yes your exactly right, I tried everything, it wont even let you uninstall google play. I was gonna uninstall and then reinstall. Google Play is a old version, its like 14.2 or something like that. Makes no since why they would do that, but my X96 Max is the same way cant update Google Play for some reason
And you know else, y don't they update there dam firmware with all the bugs its got, its been more then 6 months since an update and its still android 7. I would never buy another one of these boxes just for that reason. They have a great box if just they would fix there firmware.

If your bored waiting for a firmware update get one of these to play with https://androidtvbox.eu/beelink-gt-k...new-s922x-soc/ . I just ordered one. It looks very promising for about the same price as the x99 and has supported Android 9 firmware. Also looks quite cool with the skull eyes.

Yeah just got one of them.....its still got some bugs it in though....overall runs pretty good...at least Google Play updates....lol

Even better is that it looks like superceleron is going to be making an Android 9 ROM for the GT King. That can only be good for us. No more rk3399 boxes for me.
