gefatten, told you theat the 21081024 firmware was rooted a while back....and sasdave is right it works great....only problems I seen so far is google play will not update and the screensaver will not work....everything else works great, KODI and everything ect....its really a nice firmware and its ROOTED

Screensaver , you must first close one thing in DeveloperOption , this is the

"activeDisplay" Function , then it shall work , hopefully , dont understand this.....sorry

do you have the DeveloperOptions activated in Settings ??? if not u must first go to

"about Device" and press 7times or more the BuildNr. , then a message pops up , go

back to Settings scroll down and you will find the "DeveloperOptions" , then look for

the "activeDisplay" Function and close it , do you understand now ??? hope so ,

2 Desktop Security ...

3 and this is what we all mean , it must be there ( Display will never be closed while charging ) .... or similar ,

we have TVBox , so always Power , like always charging ,

I think you mean STAY AWAKE option under developers. . Screen will never sleep when charging. It's there.

latest FW by "WiFi OTA" Rooted!
Gefattern knows this,but before OTA update you need another(previous-latest) FW(or ROM) to do this
WiFi OTA,when you did it this FW than you can re-update by WiFi OTA update,well kinda confuse
But I did it right this method and got the ROOTED FW!! (KODI versions works fine!)
Note;I'm not sure of the firmware dates because I sold this device+

And YES bergamesk the firmware you got is great, 10/24/2018. I haven't had any trouble with it at all. Everything works real good LMAO..... except the screensaver...but I can live with that.

hope this will be fixed too , the best would be a bugfree / Magisk compatible Rom ,

This is for X99 TV Box Firmware (20181024) Plugin the big USB plug into your computer the small 3.0 USB cable first into the box. Then hold the reset button and plug USB(big) to USB (big) into 2.0 USB on your computer and other end into the box (X99) while holding reset button. You will hear a sound knowing your box is connected. Then startup the RK android tool v2.43, load the firmware and hit upgrade. This is for 20181024 and its rooted and it works great when I hook it to my TV.
