    Frame skipping on SMB videos

Hi all, i just want to mention firstly that this is an awesome ROM, great speed, wifi is rock solid and no complaints. I read though that the video skipping is fixed does this mean for playing videos from SMB shares? If yes, I still cannot watch a video without it stuttering every second. Im not sure if this is related to dropped wifi packets, or the way the MK802IV buffers data. I noticed that If I pause the video for a few seconds, it then plays smoothly for a few seconds. I installed the ROM as is from the link. I never changed kernels as Im assuming this is already using sams kernel.

Anyone have any suggestions on how we can fix this?

    Thanks in advance.

hi Neomode, do you have an ETA on the roms V2?
Just to check if I just flash this one or should wait for the V2.

Thanks for all your hard work.

I've had no luck with this. I previously had used a w2comp upgrade, then decided I wanted CWM recovery, which worked fine. Then I thought I'd try this rom. No output (not even sure it booted). Flashing w2comp did nothing. I even tried flashing this (1.5) with the sam kernel. After about trying everything, the only thing that got it to work again was the RM OEM firmware.
After I got it on again, i tried going straight to the NEOTV rom. I got an android recovery image after initial boot for about 15 seconds, then dark again. - Back to RM Firmware, then W2comp again (which does work). I even tried the NEOTV from the w2comp again with the w2comp recovery (instead of the cwm) and still a no go. my only variations are no 1) no signal; 2) recovery for 15 seconds, then dark (no signal); or 3) I once saw the recovery android, then dark then upon rebooting saw four linux penguins at the top of my screen after which i saw the recovery "dead" android. (no I have not even downloaded picuntu or any of the linux distros for this)

I am so lost. The only thing I can think of is maybe when I ABD the CWM recovery, it changed something else? but still, not sure why it would matter after I start over with RM firmware...

-I'm not new to flashing android, but this has got me stumped.

...maybe neo can make a batch IMG file for me since only that tool is working???

(fyi, I've redownloaded neo1.5 again to make sure it wasn't corrupt. still no go.)

              why no

Why not try the 1080p kernel, even though your tv won't do 1080p.

AAAAAAAAAAND it works. I guess I made some wrong assumptions about what the 1080 and 720 meant. even though I flashed the sam 1080 to make it work, the rom HDMI Mode gives me just 720x480 and 1280x720. I guess I have no idea what the 1080 is for, maybe rendering (but why then?).

anywho, I don't really care why it works, I'm just happy it does (for now). It probably won't take long for me to get restless and try the CWM again.

I would say this is WI-Fi related. Please check your Wi-Fi about how many people on the same channel. For this you can use Wi-Fi Analyzer.

                    Some points:

1- This rom is awesome! Man, you all did a great job, txs!

2- The opening screen suxxs!!! I can't even watch it stating up

3- Under Settings, About device, the Model number = MK802 .... My device is not that (I have MK 809III). If this is a generic rom for multi devices, so we could have something generic like rk31sdk for example?

4- DO NOT try to flash a rom witn Win 8.1. I have the RTM version and it doesn't recognize the drivers. Just so you know...

Again, keep up the great work and looking forward for next release with tweeked 2 and 3 !

Hi Neomode, thanks for the response. I did that and i'm the only wifi network on that channel. I then thought it was the built in wif of my laptop so I bought a usb wifi adapter that connects to router at 150Mb/s, still i get the video stuttering. Perhaps the app im using to stream is crap any suggestions on a good app to stream BR RIPS over wifi from laptop??

                        Thanks

                          i have a class 10 micro sd 32gb.

whenever i use it it becomes corrupted and have to be reformatted.
I have tried FAT32, NTFS and exFAt.

It is almost never recognized, and when it is recognized, it stucks on "calculating..." or give EIO Error when trying simple operations like copy\paste\delete.

Also tried NTFS Mounter and Paragon Mount from market.

can anyone maybe help me? what filesystem is recommended? and what should I mount?

                          Thank you very much!
                          no has any information?
                          doesnt anyone use External SD?

                          Found a possible solution:
"MK802 Write to External SD Fix

While trying to use Titanium Backup to backup to the extsd card, I discovered the device won't let any app write to extsd.
This is a permissions problem, and here is the fix

Use a program like Root Explorer
                          Go to system/etc/permissions
                          Open platform.xml with text editor,find 'WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE"
There will already be a line under it, add the next line under that one-
                          <group gid="media_rw" />
now save and exit, after a reboot you will be able to write to external sd card with any app"

                          will test tonight.

                              are you using FAT32?
I found a solution about permissions:

"Use a program like Root Explorer
                              Go to system/etc/permissions
                              Open platform.xml with text editor,find 'WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE"

                              <group gid="media_rw" />
now save and exit, after a reboot you will be able to write to external sd card with any app"

Well i had this problem with all firmwares i tested but not this one.

I have a 16G.B external Sd card but i found it useless as all my big sized games (Wild blood ,
Dungeon hunter 4 , bard's tale with HD textures) as well as many apps don't work from
SD card , so sadly it is sitting there collecting dust.
