you can use dumy launcher.
just close xbmc, you will get black screen.
press menu button on remote, go to preferences.
set es explorer for single click and you can enter it with a press of a button.

(This mode is only for people with xbox controler, to provide plug&play gameing experience, if you dont have it do not swich modes)

I just love it. Thanks lewy for this great firmware. I just installed 1.0.3
XBMC doesn't crash anymore, and all plugins that i'm using are working great. My TV is 720P so I can't say anything about 1080P, but 720P is really fluid.

I just had some difficulties to find how to set my wifi password.

The only bug I get is with XBMC, I loose background of some configuration menu with Aeon Nox, when something is playing.

Now that I customized my XBMC what do you recommend to backup it ?

Is there away to upgrade to 1.1.0 or futures versions without erasing/formatting all the settings ?

if you want to backup just xbmc, use es explorer and backup /sdcard/android/data/tv.ouya.xbmc folder
and you will be set

Is it possible to download from somewhere version of XBMC used in this firmware and install it on stable full firmware 1.2.0? If not, where can I find stable version of XBMC for firmware 1.2.0? The download link in Settings doesn't work for me...

Is this a firmware that will make a K-R42 android tv box into an ouya/xbmc media player with the ability to surf and download ouya games from the ouya store then? If it is then that is amazing work and you deserve the biggest praise of any dev i have ever seen online as that is more than an accomplishment especialy to get a wireless 360 controller operational with it as well,it is just absolutely unbvelievable i am jaw to the floor looking at that youtube video mate well done.

Ok mate basicaly i have flashed this 1.0.3 found linked in your post,but i am completely unaware of what i have flashed here? Is this supposed to work with the option for advanced and switch to use ouya store as if it is supposed to work it doesn't? But i do see in an article of writing somewhere near the top of the 1st thread page where you have written saying the ouya store is in 1.0.5,so my assumption here is that the ouya store will become available in the next updated version of this firmware and is not currently applied to version 1.0.3 which the new firmware coming soon is going to be called version 1.0.5 is this right? or should i already be able to use the ouya store as is in my currently flashed 1.0.3 firmware, please can you shed some light as it is confusing?

Wow i can't believe your team has achieved such a result from a k-r42 android tv box and it's just unbelievable it's running ouya store,i cannot wait until tomorrow,you just gained a new fan

I do actualy own an ouya but after having the controller replaced recently the new fw on the controller or something stopped all google play store side loaded games running via analogue sticks,so as a result i have dumped it in the workshop (back bedroom) as it's annoyed me.I have done some serious mods in terms of the heatsink and added extra fans to the ouya,i have a page called ouya shimming on youtube all about my work i am a crap commentator but maybe worth a quick skim over if you like the ouya,the performance is phenominal since modding and shimming it off,the copper heatsink shim is enormous lol.

This firmware supports AV out or just HDMI

and for OUYA version which you then will upload, Im enable to use mouse or just only joystick controller (Xbox controller) to navigate.
