I say that the box you have chosen has to be one of the best sub £100 investments you ever make mate, you can also use a wired 360 controller for them on standard firmware for all controller enabled games. The mali 400 gpu isn't a nvidia tegra but it definately throws out some decently high level visuals and the 2gb ddr3 makes menu surfing a breeze no clunkyness which the ouya switching o,s it's miles better than stock, as i have a ouya console as well, i have hard/rooted it and cooling modded it,i massacred the stock soldered heatsink mounts and used paper clips bound like a corkscrew through the old mount holes to allow me to put a copper block from an old laptop cooler in the space, and then filed the copper block smooth so no tube cut outs remained,i then resoldered the new heatsink mounts after boring the board openings bigger to fit the new paper clip mounts also i used 2x 0.6mm copper shims for the ram off **** and then thermal pasted above and underneath all shims ,and the result was that it idles on 33c on android tuner application and it plays constant games at 51c max for hours at at a time using gta 3 and shadowgun. But to the point the k-r42 is an awesome little android tv box with full 1080p 2gb ddr3 quad core mali gpu and 2 usb ports and an sd card slot and standard rgb video output as well as the hdmi port, the device also has very fast wireless n speeds i have seen 3mb/s,games are sleek and fluent and apps have quadroople the power they need leaving room for processess to run in the background without stressing the cpu too much,it's absolute bang for buck .

WOW. Great job lewy20041. What a fantastic project.

Has anyone gotten DD or DTS passthrough to work with XBMC? I see "Error - No Devices found" under Passthrough Output Device.

          tvheadend Q

Awesome firmware - thanks a tonne

Pushing my luck I know, but any chance you could consider bundling in tvheadend support, and USB DVB-T stick support?
I have been toying around with this based on thread on xda (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...2171412&page=3) - rockchip mk808 based, but working on assumption the similarities will apply. Would obviously depend on the stick, but seems base kernel modules are the same (original source http://www.holik.at/index.php?m=06&y...y130627-175237). Reckon it would be a sweet setup to have TV/PVR all in same device.

I haven't yet gotten my stick recognized, but that's probably user error

That is the same file as I edited before for you. Just use the one I posted in the other thread and it should work.

I don't understand you mate. "Ouya partial sign"?

I have not tried this firmware yet but I can tell you that the vold.fstab you posted above is identical to the one you posted in the other thread before so the same file that I gave you before should work unless you have pasted me the wrong file.

did you copy all the files from internall sdcard to your microsd card before swiching vold.fstab?

Hi Lewy, when you can expect updates about HFW correction "sleep", and USB?

P.s Can "play market" there are programs that can fix "sleep" without changing the firmware?

i think sleep dont work as it should in HFW due to kernel.
i need to catch wasser and ask him if he can solve it

I have a one stage yes but upon a reboot it hangs at the ouya loading page

I have a one stage yes but upon a reboot it hangs at the ouya loading page? I just have feeling the vold is the wrong one can you state the path for vold.fstab to be overwritten.
I suppose a good question would be in which mode xbmc or ouya mode do i copy the volod.fstab over or do i copy all files in xbmc mode to sd and then when switched to ouya do i then copy all the files over to the sd again then switch the vold?
Basically if i use the current vold file it then if set to mass storage option it has greyed out sd card and greyed out external sd card also stating unmounted in settings as well?
Also to ad is that when switched to mtp again it gets GT-I9300 installed but the disk shows as totaly empty nothing in it and i cannot seem to copy vold fstab file to it as refuses to use as storage?

The best thing here would be for someone else to get the firmware running and ammend the fstab then upload the fstab file to a download site like mediafire and such, this way we have a working file to use and then everything else is user error which can be assessed

Update:When i manage a fresh install of the firmware and i look in storage sd card is greyed out any way?

I am now begining to wonder if it relates to the fact the sd disk was set to logical partition in minitool? Any how i have now set it to primary and i am doing a reflash so fingers crossed it get's detected as a sd card now in ouya firmware?

Weird guys if i format to primary and reinstall firmware i get a weird kernel panic message appear as follows :

ERROR IN ACTION NUMBER 1 OF EVENT:HTTP FOR OBJECT SOCIAL_OBJ:

DATA STRUCTURE WITH INDEX DOES NOT EXIST.
                          AT GML_SCRIPT_JSON_GET
                          SATCK FRAME IS
                          GML_SCRIPT_JSON_GET(LINE0)
                          GML_OBJECT_SOCIAL_OBJ_OTHER_62

The above was showing up in lower case when booting and it just doesn't go away now?
I must say that i am perplexed by it,i have noticed also when reflashing or simply flashing the fw over to the device, upon booting it takes maybe 4 reboots as just xbmc loads and causes a garbled graphics when using the menu the system power off for a reboot then? After much agrevation i manage to force the launcher app to then switch firmwares,so my question is is there a bug in the system with relation to the sd card? As a result i must have reflashed 20 times now trying every way under the sun for the sd to be read, what would be cool would be a sd car vold.fstab firmware with sd card as internal storage preset,i am guessing the workload may be great i am unsure?

Maybe an idea would be add in advanced settings a extra switch to switch to external sd card as main storage then when it reboots go back to advanced and switch to ouya firmware and have the switch incorporate the files then being written over to the external sd so it uses it as the boot partition? It's a massive ask i know but maybe if it isn't going to happen which i wouldn't blame Lewy20041 if he doesn't want to do that as the work would be excessive for a small option setting, and i am guessing Lewy20041 has already set his sd card as main storage option,i just can't believed i have hit a hurdle like this and been unable to resolve it yet,as normaly i can eventualy hit the mark with a hell of a lot of reading and the perserverance but my frustration is getting the better of me now.

If anyone could teach me in laymans enough terms how to develop and modify an android devices firmware or how to manipulate android os via pc to achieve a basic programming knowledge that would be sensational, as i feel i could contribute to projects as i am the kind of guy that once he knows how to do something, then it's only a matter of time with me persevering around the clock that i eventualy always get what i aim for. This would make subject matter like editing a vold.fstab a breeze at most. And i would like to make some helping apps maybe the likes of a app that switches internal storage automaticaly for a k-r42 so you need never edit a vold.fstab again on it.I'm probably dreaming as a beginner learning android that i could accomplish that, but i'd more than love to learn android basic programming on afrom a laymans terms perspective, just so i can understand it would be good enough, maybe at least if i understood it i could edit files manualy.I'm not what can be called a complete noob when it comes to flashing devices and have done many mods repairs on idevices and varied phones eg. my Haipi i9377 generic china mobile and rewrote the imei back to it after the flash, done other things like go pro cameras and so forth, idevices and blackberry's the idevices i feel i have now mastered,i am what you'd call a computer repair technician in theory no formal certification but i train voluntarily at a family friends shop, well i say train i have done 1 day a week for 3 years now so i can help them out and learn a bit,i love it as it keeps you informed and up to standard on modern tech they also stock tablets now so we do a bit on those from time to time, i often shim laptops and strip rebuild them for charging socket repairs i don't solder them my self but i replace the oines on a lead and sometimes stripping them to bare bones i've even reflowed and shimmed a inspiron 1546 with my atten 858d+ heatgun,in the shop i diagnose and repair machines that come in, this can be software related or hardware related, also from time to time we get different little niche things to do like the odd mac all in 1 or a random request for a software program to be toy'd with to make it run or even a tomtom gps oer a garmin possibly sometimes we get a generic branded tablet from china to mess around with restoring or adding apps and so forth you get the picture,so i have a vast knowledge of some fields and although it took a lot of guidance to get it in my head enough to become second nature,i still feel i can work alone or as a team repairing when under pressure if inundated, but i also have a strong willingness to learn android development or manipulation of android operated devices to do as i would like it to do and as would others would like it to do.

Me to mate your not alone,i am trying to fathom it on my own at present but i will get an answer in time and get it going again.I am no dev so may be time consuming doing research, you know the saying don't you "google is your friend" It may not relate specificaly to the firmware we use but there may be forum posts online that dictate what it is and how to fix it,it may be the fix is for the same thing on a different device but applies to ouir devices software all the same.I will get back if i can fix it.Hope you get it sorted mate i realy do as it's driving me around the bend so join the club mate lol.I wonder if it relates to a server as that is a http address and it is arguing about one suddenly on both yours and mine box's? In other words is the ouya store used in the fw linked to a server and if the server has gone down does it throw us up this page at boot to warn? One little tyhing i find online is that GML is the game maker language apparently but this is not going to solve this.

Think i have it i held home button got in to launcher i removed the 360 wifi reciever and then chose launcher for ouya in apps with the ethernet out it doesn't panic but if i plug it back in it does? This appears to me like a server issue of some kind? Without ethernet it does not panic but with ethernet it does?

                                its probably due internet conection.
