T-R42 custom firmware by wasser

Hi wasser i have the T-R42 box,and i flashed K-R42_HFW and I flashed this kernel :http://d-h.st/Wn1
With this kernel everything should work with the HWF firmware and the T-R42 box right?
Anyways I`l flash your firmware and report my findings.

it doesn't work if you flash HWF firmware with my t-r42kernel. The re are some kernel modules in HWF firmware which are incompatible and cause reboot like in your case.

i recommend to flash the t-r42 firmware .

Here's my dmesg output (link in title of post).

PS: I am not able to provide the output after enabling WiFi, as the device crashes immediately. It will then refuse to boot until a factory reset is performed in CWM recovery.

1 did you flash the t-r42 firmware?

1. I flashed the firmware you provided with the alternative 1080p kernel you made available at http://d-h.st/iMq
2. It is a T-R42 directly from geekbuying.

Could it be the alternative kernel (the one fixing IR remote) which is causing issues?

T-R42 Rockchip Passthrough Issue

Current Settings:

1) lewy20041 HWF 2.0.4
2) Wasser New T-42 1080p Kernel with stock IR fixed
3) Ethernet Connection
4) MX Player (Latest version from Google Store)
5) XBMC Gotham Alpha 8 libmedia Edition 2013-10-04

Current Issues:

1) After turned on Rockchip Passthrough, streaming a 1080p movie with DTS through MX Player video stuttering badly and unwatchable. My A/V Receiver keep switching back and forth between Analog and DTS. The same file played fine and smooth with Rockchip Passthrough turned off.
2) XBMC Optical Passthrough not working and produced loud noise. (Looks like there is a patch to hack Passthrough for XBMC)

Does anyone have same settings and same issues as mine? A combination of lewy20041 HWF 2.0.4 and Wasser New T-42 1080p Kernel with stock IR fixed would be perfect and winner for me if I can get these two issues resolved.

Thanks for the info. I will flash the Cusomer T-R42 Firmware you provided and see if my issues with Rockchip passthrough are resolved. If not, I'm going to flash back the stock firmware for T-R42 just released and wait for it's custom ROMs.

What kernel did you use for the the Cusomer T-R42 Firmware? Is it 1080p with 1800/600/720?

Hello Wasser,

I re-flash the Player with Your custom Firmware ...
I see Your Boot Animation with the 4 Color X and Your New Home screen
It boots fine ... Connects to Ethernet Fine ..
I go in to the Normal Android Settings Page and
I have issues when I go to Change From Ethernet to Wifi it reboots ...
Then Turns back on the Ethernet ...

This works fine in the System we made with Lewy's 2.0.4 ..
It just takes a very long time to boot with Lewy's version ...
But I can Select Wifi and Blue-tooth and Ethernet with out any problems ...

Same results here...

Fresh reinstall of the OEM T-R42 rom, then installed Wassers ROM. Looked fine until I turned on wifi, then it rebooted.

Reinstalled the OEM ROM, rooted, and I've attached the dmesg and lsmod outputs if you still need them.

here is my test report for your ROM:

After a little trouble of driver and flashing issues I was able to install your ROM with your 720p Kernel.

Upon installing and rebooting the box goes to recovery menu. There you need a usb wired mouse to navigate.
The cache and data partitions are not wiped after the flash process. So I had to do a factory reset (including wiping of cache and data partitions).

Reboot... and after little time there is the homescreen.

I'v tryed to install some apps from my external sd-card, but unfortunalety there is no pre-installed filemanager. So you need a google account to download it via play store.

Okay.Turn on W-Lan -> Reboot...
It's not possible to get the box started again...

-> factory reset via cwm...

-press and hold the "Reset" button
-plug in the power cable
-> the blue light goes on
-> still hold down the "Reset" button until the recovery menu comes up
-to navigate you need a usb-wired mouse

-Ethernet via LAN works fine

-analog ausdio works fine

Which Works with Wifi and Your Kernels (thank You) ...

As I was Going through the Build.prop ... I noticed that You use Rock_usb
and Lewy's uses a Modified version he calls HWF_usb ... does that have any thing to do with
the Problem(s) ???

Where you able to Fix any of the other issues Sleep/resume/usb ???

Please let Me know If there is anything I can do or test for You ...
