Because it only works on the X2 and doesn't boot on other devices.
Too many people and companies were copying and pasting their firmware in the past onto cheap clone devices without spending the R&D to develop things themselves, so they decided to get rid of this problem.
If you are really interested in their software, why not get one of their devices since they are priced even better than most low quality S905X2 devices out there and you will keep getting updates for another 2-3 years.
