NEW - Prometheus Finless ROM 1.3

hi bob, I'm wondering, its just my device? when i got my prometheus, the wifi was just working fine... but when i upgraded to finless 1.3 it won't turn on! and another glitch that i've noticed is when i try to adjust the screen, and click the arrows, it returns back to home. pls help! thanks!

To adjust screen size go into the app folder. Choose Settings M Box - Display - Display Position - then adjust the percentage settings to suit your screen size.

Is there real 1080p output anyhow?
I thought this device is like rk3066/rk3166 with true 1080p kernel before buy it. Another reason was xbmc. Perhaps someday they'll port amlogic linux aswell.

I was under the impression that it can output real 1080p. At least I can select 1080p 50fps on the display settings. Isn't that supposed to enable real 1080p display under menus and movies?
Or maybe it is 720p upscaled to 1080p. Is that it? How can I be sure?
Also it comes with xbmc frodo 12.0. Where/how can I get frodo 12.2 with the amlogic M6 libs?
I downloaded a slimmed down 12.2 for pivos from http://matricom.net/forum/discussion...ivos-xbmc-12-2 . It literally flies navigating the menus and loading but doesn't play a single media file. Apparently the pivos M3 is not compatible with the VS-ATV-106 (prometheus).
Any comments?

Hi!

I just installed the new finless 1.3 on my Android TV box (tronsmart prometheus).


First of all, thanks for the ROM, working really smooth. Just one small detail: on boot, it always force closed setting, and when I drop an icon to the dock, it gets stuck can't click on it, don't know why. (this is my 3rd clean install)

I use it mainly for XBMC, but most of the add ons don't work, the only one working is Icefilms but it can't download meta data...For the rest, I can browse the movies, but when I click on a movie, it can't get to the hosts and keep saying the error "script failed: xxx.videoplugin.py" (no loading time at all). I tried everything: reinstall the ROM, reinstall various version of XBMC (using the one specific for prometheus), reinstall pluins etc.

The main problem is when XBMC starts, it always say: service.py failed

Here is the log of the error (the movies here is "the family" from 1channel)

I did all the tricks: uninstalled, deleted files in "profile", applied fixed from xbmchub

Could you please take a look at it? I spent time on it but can't solve the problem, it bothers me a lot. If you can figure it out it would be great, I will definitely make a donation for your help. Thanks

I'm not sure if it's got anything to do with this http://xbmc.org/server-issues/ but I thought I should mention it to you.
I have been having issues too especially on addons that I am trying to install from their servers.

I am having a very hard time with Prometheus 1.3+xbmc (the one included in the image) and a small wireless keyboard (NGS tvfight).
When I bought the keyboard and tried it on the Prometheus (already running 1.3+xbmc v12.0 visson) it worked just fine.
Last Friday I uninstalled xbmc v12.0 visson and installed a v12.2 made by a guy at matricom forum (hope it's ok to post links to other forums http://matricom.net/forums/#/discuss...special-recipe). That xbmc should work on our prometheus because it was built for android 4.2.2 with amcodec support.
It worked but it had some issues, mainly the wireless keyboard stopped being able to go back when i press the ESC key.
So I uninstalled xbmc, cleared the cache data and installed the xbmc visson that came with Prometheus and for my surprise now the ESC key doesn't go back too.
So I tried to reset the android box using the settings>backup&reset>reset but even though it says it will reboot and I will loose everything, after boot everything is still as it was. All apps are still installed, my google account is still setup, all settings are kept etc. Tried 5 or 6 times...
Then, desperate, I took a paper clip, disconnected the box from the power outlet, pressed the reset button, replugged the power supply and pressed the on button while still pressing the reset button. Zip. Nada. Niente. The box boots up as usual and all apps, settings, etc are still there.
I'm not even sure that the keyboard issue will go away with a factory reset on the android box but I gotta try, right?

Prometheus and full screen

Hello !
First : thanks a lot for the ROM, it works very well at home

I use it with a NAS on my house network and CPL(all ok with this), but I have few questions about this prometheus to make it perfect for my use :
- I tried XBMC 12.0 (the one with the finless ROM or the prometheus version on GB forum), and I can't play video on full screen ! I think I miss something, but I don't see what, I tried so many things . If you can give me a solution, it would be perfect
- I read every where "hardware decoding with XBMC on Prometheus". Where can I verify this ?

Don't know what a GB forum is, so I can't talk about that. But if you have xbmcapp-visson-20130522.apk that comes with Finless Prometheus 1.3, then it should work perfectly fine.
I think I can't help you further because in my case it works just fine.

You mean verify by looking at some screen on the TV? Not sure myself but I don't think there is such a screen.
You could use a USB keyboard and press 'o' while playing a 1080p movie. It should show you a full cache, around 50% of usage on both CPU cores and not a single skipped/missed frame. Smooth as butter

Hello Bob, do you mind telling me what script do you use to unpack boot.img files for these devices (AML8726-MX)? all the scripts I've found give me this error

Not a uImage: 414E4452 != 27051956

you said you modified the boot.img, so that means you must have had a way to unpack it first right?

The reset button is used to flash new roms only, it can't be used to to go back to factory settings if you have flashed a new rom.& the button wont do anything wile the system is runing it will only work from start up.
The only way to go back to factory setup is to flash the factory rom either the sd card way or via the pc.

That's not my intent. I want to keep the Finless ROM but put it in a state similar to when it was just flashed. So, I just want to reset the box to what is usually known as factory default BUT on the Finless ROM and not on the stock ROM.

OH now I understand you lol..But it is still bad news..The only way to go back to the sate just after you fashed finless rom on to it, is to flash the stick again I my be wrong but im sure that is the case unless you have CWM installed..The reset button is only for flashing new roms not for restting the device,,Sorry it took so long for someone to reply to your post im going to use its Christmas excuse lol lol
