Wi-Fi and Bluetooth both use the same frequencies, around 2.4GHz, so may interfere

I think it's more to do with the PiPO not being able to handle streaming an HD video, processing it, displaying it, and sending the high data rate audio via BT. Otherwise the same issues would be there when I stream music from DLNA to my BT speakers, which also involve wifi and BT running at the same time.

BT and wifi running same time on 2.4ghz frequency is causing issues with almost every android device. It can be tested so that enable wifi and BT, connect to your bluetooth headset/speaker and try to stream online music or video (Spotify, Youtube...). Run Speedtest and you can see the wifi speed drops dramatically.

I have this issue on my all android devices which has only possible to use 2.4ghz frequency on wifi. When BT is on connected to the headset and playing Spotify, wifi speed drops from 15-17Mbps to 2-3Mbps.

I have couple android devices connected to my 5ghz wifi network with no issues, which seems to be the only way to correct this at the moment. Unfortunately M7 pro does not support 5ghz wifi.

There are a lot of complaints about this issue:

Very interesting. That's quite a thread. Thanks for the heads-up on the issue.

I knew about BT/WiFi spectrum interference being a problem in the PC world at one point but it seems to have been overcome with better radios. I mean, every laptop on earth has BT and WiFi and it's not been a universal problem. I'd agree with one of the folks in that thread that it's probably chipset-specific. Too bad for the lack of 5GHz in the M7.

I know this is getting off topic, but has anyone tested 11g vs 11n, or got Ethernet to work over USB?

Chrome pain and stock Pipo Sept ROM

Running RR 2.1.1 on WiFi m7pro.
Was using chrome for a few days before I realized it was hogging all the CPU power. Even persisted through a reboot! Uninstall is the only solution. Was killing me trying to get black Friday shopping done. How has Chrome gone the memory leaking resource hog route that Mozilla adopted? Doesnt Google care about their own products? I'm converting to dolphin.

Out of the box my m7pro was useless even without a single app installed. Impossible lagging made it completely unusable.
It shipped with the Sept ROM. I didn't even bother trying the Oct update when I found this thread. Kudos and many thank yous.

One thing i noticed is that Calendar app crashes when I try to edit a repeating event schedule. Not sure if that's an app or android thing.
            This screen sharpness is amazing.

Installed and Tested and some questions

Insert standard props to dev. Great Job!

After a few installations and trying the various Overclocking options and Parameters I went back to stock as this seems all my father-in-law needs..

              A few tid bits
              - I can Confirm this works with 3G on Optus in Australia after trying Telstra and Failing(due to conflicting info on the web about it having a 900/2100 or 850/2100 modem..
              -End result is it's a 900/2100mhz modem
              - 3G isn't as good but it ain't too bad as my phone is (requires a good signal.. where there is a poor one at my house... but I had 3G most of the way to work on the bus which has a few blackspots that I know about on my phone.. So the 3G ain't too bad

-I Also found out via a LSUSB query and some google-kung-fu that the modem is a MediaTek MT6276M but I'm none the wiser as tech spec's are very light on for this product..

              Now for the bad/odd
-My tablet restarts to the boot screen every hour or two.. is anyone else getting this on this rom?
-or is this a hardware issue?(I realy don't fancy sending this back to China..)
-Apps also fail on first load while modem is connecting instead of waiting like my phone.. Is this an easy fix in future roms?

Randy: If easy it's would be great to see the 3G button from the Stock Rom or another similar..

If I had time out of work and family I'd write a widget to do this.. So I may one day but I'm doubtfull....

It appears that Pipo is still trying to find a sweet spot with 3G on their firmware. Stay tuned for hopefully more updates. Thanks for the detailed review.

                  hey..

                  just for your interest:

when i run the latest m9pro rom with m7 kernel and recovery on my m7pro then i have only 36 fps in epic citadel mark, even when i crack 20000 scores on antutu no matter what kernel i use

with the m7 stock rom it is around 44, so its a huge difference

even when the feature to hide the button bar is great, and i would like to keep it, but i hope it will come with the next m7pro firmware update.

                        hey randy.

is it eventually possible to change the text in the bootanimation from: "m7 pipo pro" to "Pipo M7 Pro" in version 2.2?

i like the animation, but i hate how the tablet's name is written

Hey there... stupid question: is there any way to make a kind of 'backup.img', e.g. a full backup of the whole system that i can reflash it via rkbatchtool? A Full Backup of a running system were nice ;-)

Am Ende ist alles gut, und wenn nicht alles gut ist, dann ist es auch nicht das Ende...

Pipo released a new firmware update today...well, maybe yesterday. Anyway, I've been working on a new ROM with some updated features. I'm still testing it, but it runs very smooth on my M7 Pro. Stay Tuned for v2.2. I'm almost ready to release it!!!!!!
