Pipo M7 Pro RileyROM 2.1.1
The 3G version requires voltage to be elevated.
Some M9 Pro users have found a way to fix it by renaming the 3G drivers. Just check the M9 Pro threads.
The M7 Pro is similar enough to apply the same fix...especially for wifi only tablets.
Once I learn the file names associated with the kernel modules...I can make a wifi only version of the rom.

Skype crashing or choppy voice; YouTube app buffering
This ROM works fine for me except for two things, one major and one minor:
Major: Skype often re-starts when trying to dial. When it does work, my voice comes across as choppy and/or with gaps and with a low sound level. I have re-installed the latest Skype fresh from Google Play (yesterday). When I've tested the PiPo microphone audio with others apps (sound recorder, etc.) the sound is clear and the volume is ok. Does anyone else have this problem with Skype?
Minor: Youtube app cannot keep up with HD streaming and is constantly buffering. There seems to be lots of bandwidth remaining as download rate is only 1/3 of my DSL maximum (ie: 3mbit/s for YouTube but my max Internet speed is easily 10mb/s).
Am running the 2.1.1 ROM on an M7 Pro 3G. Skype and YouTube were tested only over wifi.
Any ideas on troubleshooting these two issues?
Thanks...

I also have issues with the browser, it closes sometimes itself while browsing.
Almost every second boot the touch screen does not respond and I need to reset :/
I decided to return back to the original Pipo version from August, but now I can't restore the backup I made before installing this Riley rom. It fails to MD5 mismatch. Any advices?Last edited by suunnittelija; 26 November 2013, 19:20.

This is a copy of a post I made on the M9 Pro thread. It also applies to the M7 Pro:
For those of you who have been having problems with wifi slowing down and not speeding back up, thanks to Finless Bob, we may have a solution.
From settings, go to the wifi setting.
Press the menu button (3 dots) at the upper right corner of the screen and tap Advanced.
Uncheck Wi-Fi optimization.
This setting is supposed to turn down wifi speed when not in use, but it never turns back up when you need it to.
I'm still trying to find a fix for the wifi not coming on automatically when the tablet boots.Randy

Also: the problem I was seeing with buffering in the YouTube player for HD videos seems to be happening only when Bluetooth audio streaming to my BT speakers is on. I saw the same buffering with 2 other players I tried out, at almost exactly the same spot in the video I was testing with. When I turn off BT, the problem goes away and I can actually see my wifi data rate jump from an average ~600kb/s to ~2Mb/s. Something's not optimized in the PiPO.
