I have a question... I have a [PMID701i 10] that will not boot (don't know why, I think I was pluging in the usb as it was booting, maybe that was it?? just icecream droid and the inter winding circles for ever) I can boot into recovery <3e> but I can not get live suite to connect (read lots and deleated all the unused USB drivers from my other rooting and ROMing of other phones) is there a way to do the update through the external storage?? recovery can see directors on the external SD but an .img file is not seen as a valid update??

I spent hours yesterday trying to get LiveSuite to work on my Win 7 PC. I was holding the middle bottom button and the pushing in the power button and holding it in for a few seconds and my tablet would get to the little android guy with his stomach laid open and the exclamation mark. But when I hit update system on LS, it said device not found. I finally found the answer after installing and uninstalling drivers, rebooting, etc. Open LiveSuite, choose your img, connect your tablet and after you hear the typical "something is connected" pc sound, you hold the middle bottom button down and tap your power button over and over again kinda fast. Nothing will show on your tablet screen, but the flashing will begin after you answer 2 questions (I said OK to each although I had no idea what it was asking me because where the text should have been, it was blank.). I took out my sd card before I flashed because I didn't want to format it.

I followed the Youtube guide I saw here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oL5Kn...ature=youtu.be although some of it didn't apply, but enough did to help me through it.

Did you download the guide pdf file from ST's support site? Each model has a different way of getting into flash mode.

                  Which ROM is the best?

I have the ST ICS rom on the 701c. I had the onda v5 before, in which everything worked but rotation. Got the ST one, fixed rotation, but now Netflix is choppy. Haven't tried Shawn's ROM yet, but has anyone tried both and recommend which one I should stick to?

This rom is the latest ICS for 701c. I've been using it for over a week. It seems very stable.

is this different from the rom on first page and if so what perhaps a changelog?
                      thanx shawn

This rom is the one that should be 100% OK. As in no bugs or issues with the buttons & or rotation.

Ok, so I'm somewhat confused. I have a 701c and I've been holding off installing ICS on it because I thought I read users were 'losing' tv out functionality when they do. Is this the case or not? I don't want to upgrade if I lose that functionality (I have a netflix account and the ability to output to my TV is attractive).

The release notes for the offical ROM state that you lose TV out when you upgrade to ICS.

Fair enough-has anyone actually found this to be the case? Main reason for asking is cause the netflix performance on my system suxors and I was hoping the ICS upgrade might help (not saying it will, just experimenting at this point).

I can't say I've tried this since my unit doesn't have TV out. I wish I would have got one that did. But since we have original roms from Polaroid now, I would say just give it a try and if it doesn't work, just go back to the original Rom.
