Wish I could say the same. I'm getting a 1-2% drain per hour while in standby.

I don't quite understand how to interpret the data BetterBatteryStats offers. But it appears the kernel wakelock offender is a process named "rtc_hym8563"

I've had my tab powered on for about 4 hours and this process has caused 1h 19m of wakelocks.

I was looking for the easy route, and it worked great. Thanks Bill

        Problem boot when I charge

        Hello Finless,

I installed your Rom, it is really great. Thank you !

I noticed a problem. When the tablet is switched off, when I charge it, it is impossible to start it. I press on the button Power, the first screen launches, then the screen of the battery in load, and after nothing more. Is it normal?

          Wifi speed limited and gps

          Hi Alls
I teste this rom and 2 questions:
1- Wifi speed of this Pipo is limited to 65 Mb/s why ? Is it a harware or software limitation ?
2- I have a poor GPS reception with this ROM for me the Riley or Katsy Rom's are best for the GPS, abd you ?
thx for your Job Finless !

            Start while charging

It is very much possible and not an issue at all...
When in charge, press slightly on the power button to show the charging on the display - than press and hold the power button the unit will switch off and exits charging mode. Now press and hold a couple of seconds for a second time until the start screen comes up.

By far the smoothest ROM I've tried!
Thanks Finless for sharing your work with us

Thank you for your answer. I do the difference between the short press (to see the battery charge) and the long press (to start the tablet).

So, when I make a long press, the screen Freaktab appears normally, then the screen of the charge battery and after nothing more. No boot.

The M9 Pro is weird to turn on and has nothing to do with the ROM. I thought mine was dead at one point because of this.

With the tablet off press and hold the power button for at least 4-5 seconds then release. If you don't hold it long enough it wont boot. If you hold it too long, it wont boot! So it is picky how to power it on.
Mine is the same way even with stock ROM. I have already told at least 5 people about this because they thought it was dead.

                  other answers:
Yes this wifi chip has a max of 65mbps. It's hardware.

Is yours a 3G model? If not something else is drawing power. Maybe some APP you installed?

GPS signal, I did not change this in the ROM in any way. I am sure Randy or Kasty has not either. We all used the same stock ROM so you are seeing a placebo effect in my opinion. It is the same as the stock ROM.

What I've learned on most Pipo tablets. If you hold the power button until you hear the camera shutter click...you've held it long enough.

From your description I assume that you did not leave the charging mode but only switched the display off. Try again and hold it pressed longer (from charging state) until the display goes black. Than wait a few seconds and start again normally (i.e. a 4-5 second press until the Freaktab picture comes on).
                      It should work.

Thanks, I shall try the next time when I recharge the tablet. I did not have the impression to change my way of switching on the tablet. Anybody did not notice this problem?

Yes. Mine is the 3G model. And I have the 3G / Mobile Network is disabled. I do have a data sim in the slot however.

I took the M9 off the charger last night after a full charge and disabled Wifi. It was out of standby briefly a couple of times before I hit the sack. After 13 hours it's lost 19% of battery.

I can't really find any info regarding the "rtc_hym8563" service. It apparently has something to do with Real Time Clock.

Just installed … Antutu 18748… very good.

Thanks! Excellent work! Well done Bob!

Love the new option to hide the system bar.
Have the 3G version. I'll see what the battery drain does.

I tried with your method : no problem to switch on it when it charges. This ROM is perfect !
