I have been using this firmware for more than a week. WiFi is not stable and connects always at 65Mbps. Ethernet is not stable as well (but much faster than wifi), and the internet just stops occasionally. It is really hard to turn LAN ON. Most of the time device must be switched OFF and then after cold restart LAN can be switched ON.

Other problems are with Sound. Very ofter sound output is corrupted and sounds cracking and something like numerous parasite reverb/echoes applied onto the orignal sound and that hears as cracking noise. This is strange because I got same sound problems with the original firmware which device came (DEC/2013) and now there are same issues with this firmware. After few reboots the sound could improve by itself...

Frant, do you modify the firmware or you could obtain it from the manufacturer?

endera, did you test this? This is for MK918. According to this post CS918B (rk3188_box_szy_x6
v1_0 131024) and MK918 are different (they share common hardware, but PCBs are completely different.

OK, but do you have any info to share about this firmware. Bugs, stability, real 1080p kernel?, rooted? etc.

So far the most stable firmware in my experience is: cxy_cs918_BT_box_ap6210_131120_en
It has an very stable WIFI/LAN connection, and is not glitchy or anything else.
If is not broken don't fix it. Firmware link can be found here:
