    Multi-users

May be this would be helpful: http://crewrktablets.arctablet.com/?p=2343 - multi-users works fine, but cameras don't work.
    Good luck!

hello, i following this topic because i want to buy this tablet to my parents (informatically illiterate folks). but i'm concerned (as we do not live near each other) about that battery drain problem. can somebody tell me what is really going on? is problem rom, hardware, cheap/weak battery or something else what eventually can be changed in some new firmware version?

      many thanks in advance!

Results may very on battery use. It really depends on what apps you have running and how you use the tablet.

I, for one, like to turn the tablet all the way off when I'm not using it...just a habit. I'm more inclined to want a performance oriented tablet. But others rely heavily on the deep sleep feature, which requires tweaks that cause a performance hit. Right now, the beta KitKat version I used for this ROM isn't quite polished in battery efficiency. Updates are trickling out from Pipo this week...so I've got my work cut out for me. As soon as I get a new firmware from Pipo for the U8, we will see if they've opted for better performance or better efficiency.

I do like the fact that this tablet charges through a USB port, unlike the other Pipo tablets.

apropos charging via usb - for my folks - that information absolutely have no influence! i'll say them "you charge it like that", and they will accept that. but try to explain difference... no way!

and about (possible usage). they will use it for: web browsing, mail, weather prognose and _maybe_ video chat with me. so, plain novice way of usage. turning it off during night, and absolutely no tweaking and playing with software. i will install custom rom, install few apps, make e-mail accounts and that is all. so, i presume that that way will not drain battery a lot. only thing i'm affraid is using external 3G dongle, as they do not have land line and/or 24/7 accessable wifi. so, 3G could be trouble maker. as purchase is still "in the wood", i'm waiting for news about new rom. or, more possible, i'll gave them my m8pro, and i'll buy some 8", what is for my needs quite enough.
          but, u8 is "tickling" me...

          thank you!

Re: Pipo U8 RileyROM 1.9 KitKat

Hi Randy. First of all I want to tell you how much thankful I am, because your ROM boosted my pipo u8 in an amazing way. So thanks a lot.
The problem I have now is that accidentally I installed cwm and now I am in a recovery loop and I don't know what to do. I've searched if there's a way to control cwm from adb but I haven't find anything. Is there anyway to exit from this loop and don't have to reflash the ROM, maybe using the computer? (as you know it is impossible to control cwm recovery with the buttons) and my mouses doesn't work connected with an otg cable.
            Thank you very much!

I think I posted a misc.img file on the TWRP thread you can flash. It has the command to boot to system. I'm mobile so I can't give you a link.

But how can I flash it without controlling cwm recovery?

You do it with the Flash Tool you used to flash the ROM in Windows.

In the RIleyROM folder of the ROM kit, rename misc.img to something else.

Copy the new misc.img into the RileyROM folder.

Run the flash tool and uncheck everything except misc.img.

Put your tablet in flash mode.

                  Don't erase IDB.

                  Click Flash ROM.

Only the misc.img file will be flashed, and you will boot to system.

I must thank you for this rom.
I've successfully flashed it alongside with TWRP, and it works flawlessly. I've also been able to flash in Crossbreeder.

                      My results using:
                      RR 1.9
                      + TWRP
                      + Crossbreeder
+ Pimp my Rom with almost all tweaks on, CPU governor set on 'interactive'
Have been the best so far, antutu almost reaches 19.000 (18.893) and games that previously lagged (ie. Despicable me (minion rush)) run now really smooth. Browsing and overall usage have also been improved.

                      Thank you!

After some usage I can say that, at least for me, battery drain is normal/good.
Playing and browsing (alternatively) during 2-3 hours with brightness set to automatically dropped battery from 40% to about 18%.
Playing music from Spotify, wifi on, and with the tablet on standby, dropped by 1%, from 100% to 99%.

                          So far so good!

Tell that to dig on 4.4.2 game overturned on the two sides as in 4.2.2, and it is inconvenient when tablet buttons on the right side of the game and then nezhdanchik ... body need to flip.
