Pipo U8 RileyROM 1.9 KitKat

Actually, in KitKat the multi user feature is turned off...deep in the system...and I haven't figured out how to edit that part. I've seen some posts on how it's done, but the file names and settings don't match what's in these Pipo ROM's.

The good news is that there is an Xposed Framework Module that will activate multi user and it works quite well. Just install the Xposed Framework and browse their repository for the multi-user module.

Behold!
system/build.prop:
ro.factory.hasUMS=true
fw.max_users=4

in framework.jar to get UserManager.smali
to UserManager.smali findand replace ro.factory.hasUMS on ro.factory.ha__MS

and then it will multi-user

I can't say I'm impressed with the Xposed Framework solution. Of the first 4 apps I tried in a new user account, only one functioned reasonably. The back button does not work at all in any new user accounts.

Oh well, no solution yet then.

Hi all friends! I have an AOC tablet with Rk903 wifi chip. Oma made a rom for Pipo U8 that boot ok on my AOC... it is a 4.4 build and it has the 1.24 firsr gen loader. My question is: it is possible to flash the system.img of this rom under 1.24 loader? Thank you!

I don't recommend it. Each time I've tried it bricks the tablet and you'll have to get into mask mode to recover.

I've heard there is a 2.13 loader floating around that also works with JB ROMs, but I haven't tested it.

I have it in my PC...but I'm mobile at work so I can't provide a link.

i love this custom RILEYROM 1.9 but my problem is after playing any game my pipo u8 freezes and you have to reset it always to go back to play again.. i hope you can help me sir riley.. thank you very much..

Miracast not working on 1.8

Hi Riley,

Thanks for your great work, I have not yet upgraded my U8 from 1.8 to 1.9.
Yet, May I ask..

1) Is there anyway to enable multi-window as the old stock non-kitkat rom?
2) I couldnt get the miracast work properly via 2 dongles that I have, it somehow connected but then dark screen or disconnected.

Did anyone here experienced similar issue too??
